J.D. Hayworth Publicly Throws Birthers Under the Bus; Accuses McCain of Distortion and Distraction

J.D. Hayworth has publicly come out and thrown the Obama Birthers under the proverbial bus while at the same time taking some punchy swipes at his political foe, John McCain, against whom he's running for the senate in Arizona, accusing him of distortion and distraction. Appearing on the O'Reilly Factor, Hayworth personally distanced himself from the Birthers' beliefs by asserting unambiguously and once and for all that he believes Obama was born in Hawaii. Before this stunning Factor admission, Hayworth had appeared as though he was flirting with the Birthers' beliefs, never completely saying he agreed with their message, however generally fanning speculation about his true position with appearances on Hardball and Campbell Brown's show, in which he called for candidates in general to present their birth certificates.

So even if you give that Zero was born in Hawaii (not a chance) then there is still the question of all his hidden history.

Far as I am concerned anyone who ignores the fact that Zero is hiding his entire past and we know nothing about the man..is a traitor. We have a lot of them in D.C. gutless wonders who are afraid to ask the hard questions.

For a subject that’s supposedly so fringe, O’Reilly and Beck sure keep bringing this issue up over and over, as for JD, stick a fork in him, he’s done.

I guess he could join the birthers and be dismissed by the general public as nutcase...giving Arizona (and America) 6 more years of McCain...or even giving the seat to a Democrat.

That would certainly seem to please a lot of Freepers, from what I can tell.

...or JD can actually try to get elected first, regardless of what it takes and FINALLY rid this country of McCain, who EVERYONE KNOWS is going slide even FURTHER LEFT once he’s re-elected (probably to the point of being indistinguishable from the Democrats). Then he can go after Obama’s eligibility from a seat in the Senate.

Is Obama's constitutional eligibility issue a litmus test for Republicans who appear on the Factor now?

For a non-issue, its getting a bit of air time from O'Reilly of late.

Many would seem to think so.

O’Reilly is doing Constitution loving Americans a dis service. He is perpetuating the myth that asking a question about the legal qualification of the POS somehow makes you a nut job! BOR offers not convincing evidence that ZERO was eligible!

I can’t watch the bloviating blowhard any longer!

So....does McCain believe zero is not a U.S. citizen? I ask the question because there are two choices - McCain or Hayowrth. That’s the reality. Those are the choices.

You win some and you lose some, and we lost on this one. Even if the senate was 100% pub, it’s unlikely that this would go anywhere. Yeah, maybe if we had a huge margin in the House there might be some sort of inquiry if enough noise was made, but nothing would come of it. Pubs just do not move on these kinds of things. They don’t have the street smarts or the killer instinct that the rats have. Get over it. It’s not the end of the world.

Thanks. And I agree that if JD wins, he probably won’t want to marginalize himself in the Senate by spending his time on the birther front.

This is somewhat like the case of a dog chasing a squirrel. What does the dog do when he wins? Here, I guess we get Biden as President and a new VP...and the same Congress. Does anyone REALLY think that Biden would govern any more conservatively than Obama - that Biden would veto the health care takeover? So, in the end, what do we wind up with...the same government, of course. And all of that birther time spent could have helped to fight off health care, cap and trade, card check, etc...but wasn’t.

Yeah, because McCain is so much better, right? Sarah has said the same thing, do you want to put a fork in her too?

Why is JD done? Do you really think all conservatives believe this issue can actually get off the ground? Do you think the only people who supported JD were the handful of “birthere” on this forum?

As for Beck and BOR, BOR is a pot-stirring egomaniac and if Beck was smart, he’d stay off BOR’s show and STFU about the whole birth certificate thing.

That dog just ain’t gonna hunt, period, and neither of them help independents, pubs, tea partiers or any Americans by beating this dead horse and trying to stir the pot.

How many times do you need the “hard question” asked?

Getting into this is pointless. It goes nowhere. It will never, ever be resolved. There are issues that can be resolved. Serious problems which must be addressed or this country is dead. Anyone who dwells on Obama’s birth, on 9/11 or something similar will be thrashed in the general election. The left knows this. That is why it is egging conservatives to dwell on these issues.

So you won't vote for JD, who is not a birther, but you will vote for McCain who is also not a birther? Which "not a birther" would you rather have in office, McCain or JD Hayworth?

I do not live in Arizona but I know I would vote for the non believing JD over the non believing McCain.

I think there’s a reasonable likelihood that he was not born in the U.S., but the case has already been lost. The left and the media won that round. They have successfully painted anybody who questions this as a nutcase....

Grow up and move on, folks, and try to refrain from cutting off your nose to spite your face, if at all possible.

What concerns me about the birth certificate thing, is that, down the road, the birthers will be proven correct and precedent has been set for future presidential elections. Anybody, and his or her brother, will be able to point to the fact, that a non-citizen, was able to be president and "why not me?". I don't believe that requires growing up but it does require a true examination of the process and the candidate.

We watch very, very little of him now. We used to watch him every day. Nowadays he gets about 20-30 minutes per week of our time. He doesn’t have good command of the facts, he interrupts the likes of Brit Hume, Karl Rove and Charles Krauthammer, all of whom who have forgotten more than he’ll ever know, he’s often rude and condescending to women guests, he’s an egomaniac so everything is always about him and, last but not least, he brought back that horrid little commie, Mark Lamont Hill.

Why does Glen Beck bow to BOR’s throne!? O’rielly is very condesending to Glen. He has a hard time hiding is real feelings about Beck
