The Cartel (movie trailer - public education)
The Cartel website ^ | unk. | Bob Bowdon, filmmaker

About The Cartel | Teachers punished for speaking out. Principals fired for trying to do the right thing. Union leaders defending the indefensible. Bureaucrats blocking new charter schools. These are just some of the people we meet in The Cartel. The film also introduces us to teens who can't read, parents desperate for change, and teachers struggling to launch stable alternative schools for inner city kids who want to learn. We witness the tears of a little girl denied a coveted charter school spot, and we share the triumph of a Camden homeschool's first graduating class.

Looks fantastic. I loved the guy at the end who said something like, we have kids graduating who can’t read, for twelve year what did you do with the kids, what did you do with the MONEY? That was great.

my sweetie teaches in a southside Chicago Catholic school. These kids come to his school at least 1-2 grades behind from the public school....every time. And they operate on a shoestring, literally. I keep my eye out for great bargains (like the clearance Valentine’s stickers at the local Walgreen, sold in packets of 132...for ten cents) so I can mail them to him for his fellow teachers to use.

That’s how these poor private schools cobble together their services, with donations and bargains. So when you see something like this movie trailer, it makes your blood boil.

I’m glad you found it worthwhile. :)

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

“The Parents are Mislead”

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

No, no, no,...The word is LIE!!!

Parents are being **deliberately** LIED to!!!!

If you live in a district where children are promoted year after year without have learned the basics for that year, or who graduate from high school barely literate and numerate , then **ALL** of the teachers, principals, and superintendents who know about, coorperate with , and promote this “social” promotion in their district are LIARS!!!

These teachers, principals, and superintendents are lying to the parents, to the child, and to the taxpayer footing the bill. They are breaking the Commandment about bearing false witness.

So...The next time you meet a teacher, who seems so sweet and loves her garden and cat, this person is likely a LIAR!
