It seems they are being a bit over cautious, IMHO. Japan is so far away. If a few feet wave causes they big of a concern, something is wrong.
One of my son’s live there with his family. My DIL said the island is fine and they were not expecting anything major. She did say that the quake gave them a real jolt on Friday.

There was a MAG 8 Earthquake just off the coast of Japan
about the same time as the quake in Chile, yet the MSM says the entire Pacific is braced for a Tsunami from Chile!!!!
They do not even mention the quake off the coast of Japan???
There were Tsunami watches for the NW coast on Luzon.
That faces Japan, not Chile.
