Yes, to appease their delusional left wing lunatic base.

I've seen this suggested, and have decided this is what they must be doing. They are going to threaten, cajole, scream, and yell for weeks, do nothing, then give up and declare victory. When the lunatic left raises the point that nothing was done, they'll blame the Pubs (and red state Dems, if they have to).
At this point, I don't think half the Dems in congress really want this. They see how toxic this will be to their and their party's future. I'm convinced many of them would just like to see it over, and move on.

The best of all worlds for the GOP would be for Reid to ram this through the Senate using reconciliation before the House votes, and then for the bill to fail in the House. This would ensure the broadest Republican victories without being saddled with the legislative abomination.
To avoid this possibility, I’m sure the House will vote first. It must be killed there.

In the 2001 tax cut debate, Democrats, including Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), objected to reconciliation as an abuse of the process that was trampling on the minoritys rights. But the tactic never appeared to generate as much buzz as it has with health care reform. Someone at Politico should clue the reporter that there is one big difference between Bush's tax cuts and Obama's healthcare "reform".
In the first case, the voters overwhelmingly wanted it to happen.
In the second case, the voters overwhelmingly DON'T want it to happen.

Now, they are racing to keep Republicans We, The People, from defining the only legislative tool left to salvage the health care reform bill... Fixed.

Bigger still, the Bush tax cuts will expire next year. Obama care will never expire.

I sure hope that you are correct. It seems they will force this down our throats if they can hold the votes in the House. However, that is a huge IF and they will indeed look weak if they act on reconciliation and fail.
I hope that you are correct because these people are steamrolling their constituents already. Socialized Medicine could be the ultimate death blow to many freedoms and incrementalism will be a bitch.
We’ll see very soon...will they fall on their swords for a socialist utopia???
I’d bet you a nickel the answer is yes.
Godspeed FRiend.

It ain’t over. Pelosi will kidnap the families of recalcitrants and hold guns to their heads to force a congressman to vote her way.
