General Haig participated in seven Korean campaigns, including the Battle of Inchon, the Battle of Chosin Reservoir and the Evacuation of Hungnam.

He earned the Silver Star for heroism and a Bronze Star with Valor Device.

As a battlefield Lieutenant Colonel, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, the nation's 2nd highest medal, for heroism (fighting in hand-to-hand combat in human-wave assaults).

He was also awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Purple Heart.

He is a true hero in the American pantheon of heroes.

The pansy media hated him. The pansy media-types hate war, Republicans and the military. A genuine hero is anathema to them.

General Haig died on February 20. I expect his deconstruction by the media to begin any time now that he's in a resting place for America's bravest.
