Global warming is good for the environment.

Oil, coal and other natural fuel sources are being billed as the death of us all. Sprawling deserts, raging hurricanes and rising sea levels are all predicted to destroy humanity in the not so distant future. Scientists claim the CO2 being pumped into the atmosphere is the impetus behind so called "global warming" or climate change if you prefer.

I have to ask scientists one simple question: Where did all the carbon in these fuels come from to begin with? I'm not a scientist but I am a thinker and the question seems relevant.

While we are busy arguing about where the carbon is going and what it is doing to the global climate it may be helpful to go back to the beginning to understand the problem.

***You see we are not introducing some new and insidious chemical compound into a once pristine atmosphere. We are simply releasing carbon that was removed from the atmosphere by ancient living organisms.***

Have been trying to make that point (from a layperson’s point of view).

Since our arrival, humans have not added or subtracted any minerals, chemicals or gases from the earth - we have just rearranged them, or sucked in and exhaled out. So 1+1-1=0.

It would be good for my environment. I could use a little global warming right about now!

1+1-1=0.

You forgot to say , modulo 1.

1+1-1 modulo 1 = 0

It's OK to lie about catastrophic effects of a nonexistent cause, because it serves as a good motivator to clean up.....????

That is especially WRONG, because it is being used to take control of entire market economies and stifle industry and production....did I mention erosion of our freedoms?

I happen to agree with you on that. The global warming movement was never intended to save the world as it was never in danger. It is solely intended as a way to part us from our money and freedom. I was just trying to point out that even if it did exist its been here before and will likely be back.

I don’t understand why people can’t see this. Its simple math. We began with “x” amount of carbon and we will end with the same amount. The only introduction of new material to the planet comes from comets and meteors. I guess we could blame the alleged carbon excess on E.T.

Because it hasn't been presented to them in as logical and straightforward of a manner as you have stated. If it had been then at least some of the knuckle draggers might not be in such a panic. I've tried to present this issue to some people I know (not the sharpest tools in the shed) and they seen to have a difficult time grasping these simple concepts. I was able to get through to some but many have simply been indoctrinated by the MSM.

I tried to convey another simple concept that the climate is always changing and has always changed. Only the time references are such that we (humans) don't realize it. It's always warming or cooling. Stasis isn't the norm. It's sad that so many cannot grasp this simple concept.

Why is this in “news/activism,” rather than in “blogs”? If you’re going to pimp your blog, at least put it in the correct category.

My apologies to Theo. I am not a veteran of these forums and have obviously misunderstood the categories. I placed it where I thought it belonged. As far as pimping my blog I thought the idea was to add relevant material. I didn’t understand that the source is what makes material relevant. Sorry.
