Yep, that’s the Marxist ticket. Stimulus did not generate one documentable new “shovel ready” job. Cash for Clunkers failed to generate any meaningful new car demand. So, Onada will reprise those failed concepts with home energy conservation jobs.

Here’s what’s gonna happen: First, replacing windows/doors and reinsulating are not small cost endeavors. Let’s assume the gov’t incentive is $1,000/household. That will probably still leave something between $4,000 and $10,000 left for homeowner to pay. Questions: How many people will feel comfortable making that kind of outlay what with a bad ecomony and a Marxist sitting in the WH? How many people will simply steal the money? The Stimulus and Cash for Clunkers are/were rife with fraud.

Second, window/door and home insulation companie already exist. Because of the bad economy they will make due with the people they’re employing. They will not be hiring.

Now is actually a good time to look around for deals. We moved in about a year and a half ago and decided we wanted new windows. Estimates dropped about 10-15% over the last 18 months, plus another 10% discounts due to slow business, plus $1500 tax breaks.

If you were going to do this anyways and have the cash, now's not a bad time to do it.
