These are no longer unemployment benefits, they are welfare payments. There is apparently no end to them, no one even debates the wisdom of extending these benefits for years on end, and only ONE Senator even asks how we might pay for this.
And it appears the American people are a-okay with this, and even outraged that some gadfly ballplayer had the nerve to suggest an interruption of this freebie gravy train.
At some point I am hoping the majority of us who actually work, save and spend responsibly might rise up and put an end to this nonsense, but I guess that is to much to ask for.

Precisely: which is what I called them in the NewsBusters item. Once they are “extended,” by definition they are more than people paid for through their contributions and become welfare.
