Mourning begins for SoCal teen after body is found (when will we learn)

The Lake Elsinore man pleaded guilty in May 2000 to molesting a 13-year-old female neighbor and served five years of a six-year prison term. Prosecutors said he lured the victim to his home with an offer to watch "Patch Adams," a 1998 movie starring Robin Williams. The girl was beaten before escaping and running to a neighbor. Gardner "never expressed one scintilla of remorse for his attack upon the victim" despite overwhelming evidence, prosecutors wrote in a sentencing memo.

He had faced a maximum of nearly 11 years in prison under terms of a plea agreement but prosecutors urged six years. A psychiatrist who interviewed Gardner, Dr. Matthew Carroll, wanted a stiffer punishment, saying in court documents that he was a "continued danger to underage girls in the community."

Gardner was on parole for three years, until September 2008, state records show.

San Diego police say Gardner is positively linked to an assault on a 22-year-old Colorado Springs, Colo., woman who managed to fend off her attacker on Dec. 27 in Rancho Bernardo Community Park on the northern edge of San Diego, where King's 1994 BMW was found with her belongings inside.

“His first breath of air outside the prison walls would be his last.”

..yeah...the breath would come through his sternum.

“There is no punishment. We are trying to ‘fix’ these people.... and it DOES NOT WORK.”

Yep! People have to WANT to be fixed in order for that to work. And since there is no “punishment” in prison anymore, they sit around, eat, drink, pass time and then get out with the same (if not worse) resentful feelings and thoughts that got them thrown into prison in the first place!

Making prison punishment, would encourage people to do better and WANT to do better. THEN you move them into the “rehab” phase. If that doesn’t work - back to the punishment phase; if it DOES work, then you give them probation and a chance at re-entering a normal life!

The punishment is missing from our system! It’s like grounding your kid to their room where they have a TV, stereo, video games, you take their food to them, they have a cell phone and a computer!

What exactly did you teach them? What did you do that will make them think twice about NOT doing it again? DUH!!!

The media has a fascination with covering these violent offenders. Not just in the “news” but in docudramas and true crime shows.

It seems they like a certain level of chaos in the culture.

i think what they were saying is that its been reported that Bill engaged in predator/serial rapist activities/tendencies and after his victims were re-victimized by the liberal press and campaign staff, he was never convicted and became an international statesman.

I once saw a Brinks Home Security commercial. These young people are having a evening party,..some unknown guy hits on the young host,..and then everyone leaves. The girl is locking up the house and sets the alarm. Stranger dude comes back and kicks in the door. Alarm comes on and girl gets phone call that police are on the way.

I've seen that commercial many times and just shake my head. Who locks their house during the day and sets the alarm when they are home? Furthermore any intruder bold enough to break a glass door in the middle of the day while people are home wouldn't run because of an alarm, the women in the commercial would be abducted, raped, robbed or dead. Security companies are as useful as the police in that they arrive just in time to clean up the mess.

“level III”...

Sounds like the title of a movie that needs to be made on this issue,...have the NRA give a public service announcement at the end urging citizens to arm and protect themselves.

I trained all of my children to use firearms at age 12.

I taught my daughter to shoot when she was 10. When she turned 16 I taught her tactical shooting. When she was 21 I got her a 357 magnum and a carry permit. Then I taught her to kill using other weapons besides a firearm. Now it's all going down the tubes because she's moving to New York City this summer. She's a rising star in the fashion industry (management not model -- but she could) and that's where the action is and the money. So I'm sad and I'm worried.

Another wonderful rapist:

“During the Kimberly Leach trial, on February 9, 1980, Bundy took advantage of an old law still on the books in the state of Florida that allowed a “declaration” in court to constitute a legal marriage. Bundy proposed to former coworker Carole Ann Boone, who had moved to Florida to be near Bundy, in the courtroom while questioning her on the stand. She readily accepted and Bundy announced to the courtroom that they were married. Following numerous conjugal visits between Bundy and his new wife, Boone gave birth to a daughter in October 1982. However, in 1986 Boone moved back to Washington and never returned to Florida. The current whereabouts of Boone and her daughter are unknown

Interesting about the conjugal visits. I’m sure that didn’t continue to fuel anything.

Allow as many potential “victims” to arms themselves as possible. That would help weed out a lot of this as many potential perps would never make it to trial alive.

Bundy was one of the last high profile murderers to be actually executed. Too many die of “natural causes” in prison.

In some areas, they are looking at releasing prisoners who “don’t have long to live”.

There is some investigation now in the Lockerbie Bomber case since he reportedly had 3 months to live yet is still enjoying his freedom.

Leftist running the country leads to innocent Americans being prisoners in their own home.

That would make a great GOP commerical .

Last year a neighborhood girl was raped in the park across from my house. I was getting mail when a couple of girls that live up the block and were walking a dog stopped to say hello. I asked if they had heard what had happened. They said that a special meeting was held in the auditorium and they were advised to run and look for help. I said that they could always knock on my door.

I did advise them of some self defense moves. I showed then how to break a grip if someone grabs their arm. I showed them how to drop out of a persons grabbing them from behind. I showed them how to use the heel of their hand to thrust upward and break their nose. Finally, I said that they could stick their thumb or finger in the perp's eye and blind the SOB.

Up until the age of 13(ish) every girl should have a guard, be it a mother, father, brother or older sister. Then they should be armed themselves. If they are old enough to babysit then they are old enough to protect themselves. Gun safety should be taught *instead* of sex ed.

The slime that kidnapped and killed little Samantha Runyon lived in Elsinore as well.

I’d just like to point out the down side of castration or the death penalty would be cases like William McCaffrey.

http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2009/12/10/2009-12-10_william_mccaffrey_.html

Given, McCaffrey sounds like a real animal and probably shouldn’t have been out on the streets to be accused in the first place. Still, locking up a sex-criminal for the rest of their lives would make society a safer place.

That would be a great commercial. I hate the Brinks commercials. Even the one with the Mom and the little girl, I’d love to see the Mom break out her .357 and blow the guy away and say, “honey, that is how you do it”. I always said back when I was single and living in an apartment with an alarm system . . . . had a .22 and a .357 . . . that IF they came in, they were going back out on a stretcher.

Also the break-in victims never go in a room to hide; they call from a phone in the hallway. Riiiight...that’ll work.

Even with air tight DNA evidence covicting this scum, he will spend decades on death row before any justice can be served. Worse still is that there will be some who will lament his execution.

San Diego Sheriff Gore doesn’t give CCW permits to us “ordinary” citizens. Hopefully he gets booted out in November and replaced by Jay LaSeur, who is pro-CCW. Gore is a former FBI agent who authorized “shoot-to-kill” in the infamous Ruby Ridge incident.

I grounded my daughter to her room. When her time was up I told her she could come out now. She stayed another couple hours... drawing and reading and fidgetting with necklace beads and whatnot.
Those kids got it too good. They too soft!
