Just lettin’ y’all know that there is a potential “unintended consequence” to executing rapists and molesters.
1. Not all rapists and molesters kill their victims, possibly because they’re afraid of the death penalty.
2. The comment about “attributing rational thought’ could be used against the death penalty, too. No rational thought, no deterrence. However evidence indicates that the death penalty DOES deter murder; we just need to execute LOTS more of ‘em to get the full effect.
Personally, I’m in favor of public hangings in the town square. But I want the impact maximized on the target groups.
