Rep. Eric Massa (D-N.Y.) will not seek re-election after only one term in office.
According to several House aides on both sides of the aisle the House ethics committee has been informed of allegations that Massa, who is married with two children, sexually harassed a male staffer.
Massa and his office did not immediately respond to requests for comment, but his office has scheduled a press conference for later this afternoon.
Massa, a 20-year Navy veteran, was elected to office last November. He serves on the Agriculture, Armed Services and Homeland Security committees.

Gerry Studds was caught doing the same thing, and he was welcomed back to congress to a standing ovation! Not to put too fine a point on it, Studds was not harrassing a staffer, he and the other man had an on-going relationship, as testified by the guy, that's why Studds did not receive recrimination.

Please tell me he was an officer! Preferably an airdale. Officer, but surface warfare. This poof actually served on BB 62, the USS New Jersey.

Isnt Massa that guy that said at a Town Hall that he didnt care what the people in his district wanted he knew better and he was voting for health care? One of the things he said is that he would vote "against the interests" of his constituents if he felt like it. He actually voted NO on the house Obamacase bill. And used his NO vote for fundraising!
My theory is that Massa was one of those Dems that Pelosi allowed to vote NO, but this time she is going to need his vote. I wonder if she has uglier allegations than those revealed to date to muscle him with.

... I said it was OK, shes a girl. It sounds like all the boys are getting the attention these days. These days yes, but the 83 page scandal, the Republican involved was man/girl, Dan Crane (R-IL) was having sexual relations with a 17-year-old female page.

That was a long time ago. Her high school has closed indefinitely so we need to find an alternative

Hey, don’t slight NJ, you left off Torricelli

The severity of the accusations demand that he resign (or be expelled) immediately!

I should edit my earlier post, when I said Studds did not receive recrimination, this is not accurate, he was censured, I ought to have been more precise in saying he was not expelled. (Thanks, Bob Michel).

Well, just don’t let her think everything is okee-dokee just because she’s female ... I had a friend in high school serve as a House page, she never had any difficulties and enjoyed the experience tremendously, all the best to your daughter!

So, will the WaPo, et al, be pulling a Mark Foley on him? Pulling a "Foley" would mean waiting until the end of October to break the story. They obviously decided not to go that route.
To: Ramius
Just a guess on my part, but what if he used the “f” word to refer to a gay staffer?

Republicans had been aggressively targeting his seat
Sounds like he'd be in to that.

Prior to running for Congress he was a supervisor at my plant in Corning, NY. He was universally despised by the workers for being a putz. He was later fired by the company.
