The War's Not Over?
Waterbury Republican-American ^ | March 3, 2010 | Editorial

Did you know that a third of nearly 1,000 U.S. casualties in the war in Afghanistan have occurred since Barack Obama became president? Or that 2009 was the deadliest for U.S. troops since the U.S.-led campaign in Afghanistan began?

You can be forgiven if these facts escaped your attention since they haven't been widely reported.

After George W. Bush left office, the weekly anti-war vigils on village greens all but ended, Cindy Sheehan lost her celebrity, and the mainstream news media stopped keeping their running count of the body bags returning from the Middle East.

Though some of the bloodiest fighting in Afghanistan has taken place since Feb. 13, the media for the most part have been too busy boosting Mr. Obama and pushing to end "don't-ask, don't-tell" for homosexuals in the armed forces to report on the heroism and sacrifices of U.S. forces fighting for the cause of freedom.

War is only bad when a republican is the one fighting it.

Also unmentioned is the fact that a lot of these deaths occurred because of the Obama-era ROE, which put our troops in the impossible position of waiting to be nearly dead before they could fire.

I have come to hate liberals so much I can even tolerate members of my own family who are liberal. As much as possible, if it can be helped at family get-togethers, we go to neutral corners, literally. And I used to be a liberal. Of my six other siblings only my two older brothers are conservatives. My Dad is beyond liberal. His greatest political hero of all time is Francisco Franco. That should give you an idea of what I’m dealing with.

Since zer0’s in office there has been zer0 mention of “grim milestones” as far as body counts go. Also redacted from the mid-stream media is the term “chicken hawk.” You can betcherass you will not hear them uttered whatsoever on the networks while zer0 the fraud is in office.

This is why I worry that if I find myself in the company of liberals (who are not my family members) I’m afraid I’m liable to haul and belt one of them. I’m serious. Unless my elderly mother-in-law who lives with my wife and I is watching TV, I keep the thing of because the moment Obama comes on(and when is he ever not) I have to fight the urge to put a brick through the screen. I have never HATED anyone or anything so much in all my life as I hate him.

Don't forget that now Iraq is considered a success, with the media giving O the credit. If that isn't mega barf inducing, I don't know what is.

GALLATIN, Tenn. – Funeral services were held Wednesday for the Tennessee National Guard pilot killed last month in Iraq.

Billie Jean Grinder, of Gallatin, died on February 21 when her helicopter crashed in northern Iraq.

Grinder grew in Smyrna and is the first female Tennessee Guard member to die in a combat zone.

She had been in the guard for seven-and-a-half years after enlisting while still in high school.

She was 25 years old.

Her funeral was held at 1 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home in Gallatin.

We went to this funeral today,we had a great bunch of patriotic people attend.Full military funeral.Rolling Thunder was there.A fly-by with three Apaches overhead

She was two weeks from coming home, the article doesn`t mention it but she was a WO-2

25 years old. Very sad, prayers for her and her family. And it was wonderful that you all were there.

And yet virtually all our foreign entanglements get started by Democrats. Strange fact indeed.
