... and not only do the products mature with improved sales, capital influx, etc., their country’s understanding of the free enterprise system breaks barriers to support that improvement. Happens time and again, and the countries you point out are examples. There is no finer vehicle for the price than my ‘made in Tokyo’ than I drive. It just took them learning some savvy and a chunk of time to make it turn out that way... but it did.

The Chinese are following the same pattern, and are going to give the US a hell of a ride. Hang on. Due to this first year of Obama, they’ll own us. Another year or two of the same and we’re economically toast, no matter our politics.

Ooops. Forgot myself. Nascar thread.

Hey, how about that Mark Martin!

Remember one thing about China. They are still Communist.
They may have relaxed their economy to be more like us, knowing a communist system is unsustainable. Unless they can gather massive wealth by acting like capitalists. When the world economy crashes, they have the military hardware money suitable for conquest.

I know it is difficult. But I avoid buying chinese junk if possible. But what are we making in America anymore that can compete with 3rd world wages?

It’s why I drove a Ford. Same for the wife.
