N.Korean executed for calling S.Korea: report

SEOUL (AFP) – A North Korean has been publicly executed for using a mobile phone to tell a defector friend in South Korea about living conditions in the communist state, a rights group said Thursday.

The man identified only as Jung was executed in late January after security officials discovered a Chinese mobile phone in his home, said the Seoul-based Open Radio for North Korea.

It said Jung, a munitions worker in the northeastern port of Hamhung, confessed under torture that he had mentioned rice prices and living conditions.

My first guess was that he was calling a Chinese Take-Out place or Domino’s for delivery. I never dreamed he would be doing something so traitorous as mentioning rice prices.

“Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” is obviously not valid in NK.

God, Communism is pure evil. And to think today’s democraps believe it is better we move closer toward that form of government than toward the true Republicanism envisaged by the Founders is alarming.

As I briefly reflect on my post I realized how cheaply we can have delicious food prepared and brought to our house while there are other people in the world who couldn’t do that no matter how much they were willing to pay.

Yes, sometimes when whining about something trivial, I have to be reminded of that too.

This report is from Seoul-based Open Radio for North Korea. As evil as the North Korean government is I'm perplexed as to why a country so secretive would share information about how they tortured a prisoner to get information with an opposition radio station. Did the guy have another secret phone the North Koreans didn't find so that after they found the first one he could call his friend and let him know he was being tortured and was about to be executed?

People working for these stations are defectors. They regularly contact their associates and families via Chinese cellphone. At first, this is done to send money to family members left behind in N. Korea. There have been underground railroad network which do pickup and delivery service. Soon they ask around what is going on in N. Korea. Then broadcast it on their radio. They beam their radio signals into N. Korea, so that ordinary N. Koreans know how things are going outside their immediate neighborhood. It is a quite effective weapon to wear down N. Korean regime.

What could be mundane information, price of rice, or what their block chief told people at the meeting can be valuable in assessing what goes on N. Korea.

Cellphones are also extensively used to conduct business frequently in an illegal way outside state control.

Cellphone allow alternate power to emerge in N. Korea, whether it is new business class or political group unhappy with the regime. People with means of communication with outside and among themselves can organize and challenge N. Korean regime.

It is a grave threat to regime. As such they punish it harshly. Should make an example out of it and instill fear. Cow the population into submission again.

“And just think of all the loving Reds we have in charge of the US.”

Precisely! We need to read up on such tortures and executions so that we become more tolerant of such of our own governments future actions towards us.

We need to learn to work the new system if we want to survive. Be pro-active.

For example, we have just given our new home to a nice family of illegals. The wife and I have moved into the garden shed and we are learning how to be their servants. You see, this way we can still enjoy our new home and be a part of the new society at the same time. We are treated quite well. We get to roam the backyard at will, pick and choose what scraps we get to eat, etc.

I’d bet the farm obammy dreams of having control here just like little Kim does in N.Korea.
Starve the little people.

Wow! They get cell phone coverage in NK?

*I told you to come alone.

I did!

*Then who's that?

That's my network.

*You get coverage out here? Everytime I come out to the docks, its a craps shoot.

I read somewhere in an article the other week that the people had to be along the border area so they could pick up a signal and call.
