So what’s his risk? He will get 2+ YEARS of unemployment. His problem is that he is only 58. But he would need 4 years of unemployment before being eligible for Social Security. So I guess he will sue.

How can the evil corporate plantation owners fire a negro for him using a black approved term of endearment between brothers?I don't think he is black. I think he is white, and used it as a figure of speech about how he feels his relationship to his employer is structured. The article pointed out that he didn't realize the impact of the term because had a black stepfather who used the word casually; implying that he himself is not black.

Towson is in Baltimore...a city that’s 65% black...black mayor/city council/fire/police/social services/school board/home of the NAACP....the entire power structure is dominated by black Democrats...Towson has to get along in it’s home town..Nope. Towson is in Baltimore County, not Baltimore city. Entirely different political structure and not the same population demographic.

Many people used to say that as an expression of solidarity with blacks -- understanding how they felt oppressed by the system. I remember the expression being used in the wonderful movie
The Commitments from 1991, in which a bunch of dirt-poor Irish slum youth in Dublin start an R&B band and emulate Wilson Pickett -- they called themselves (Irish slum dwellers) "the 'n-words' of Europe".
