Michigan Congressman Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) may very well hold the life or death of the Obamacare health plan in his hands. He has been one of the few shepherds of the Right-To-Life movement on the Democrat side in Congress. As the arguments over the size of the bill and whether or not a Senate supermajority could have held at least until the election of Republican Scott Brown in January not many in the nations capitol or the country knew very much about Congressman Stupak.
It is this congressman who forcefully argued his moral convictions Thursday that...

He’s holding our for a great big fat pay-off.
I had the same impression.
It is a sickening and revolting situation. Corruption unlike this country has ever seen before. And not a bit of the horror story is FOR the American people...
I am not certain of his motives. I think his objection is genuine. I believe the figures are that 40% of dems are against abortion. Maybe someone knows a better figure on that.
If he is sincere, we need to support him.
Look how many other Dems dropped their pro-life convictions to move up the Democrat ladder- Clinton, Gore, Gephart, Bonior, etc.
If he sticks to his convictions, more power to him.
Isn't it incredible that there are only twelve Democrats in the House who claim to be pro-life as one of their principles?
Twelve!
I suspect that in the end he will fold like a K-Mart suit.
I think he’s sincere...today.
Tomorrow, next week? Not so sure.
I’m betting he caves.
Disciples?
If those twelve prolife Democrats stay in that party for another 10-20 years, there will only be two or three.
Remember the leverage point folks: Frame this as Government deathcare and abortion just in time for Easter.
Obama wants it by Easter. Make them admit what it is they are voting for, and the deadline Obama’s given them to deliver it to him.
MAKE IT PAINFUL. Make it painfully clear they are GONE politcally if they vote for it. Anyone who votes for rationed care and end of life panels and government-mandated abortion coverage, you’re just over. If they have the gall to vote for it on EASTER???? And call themselves CHRISTIANS???
Hammer them with the raw truth. Make them embarrassed. Make them uncomfortable. The truth gnaws at people.
They will piss away their careers for what??? The first marxist president who doesn’t give two craps if they are re-elected or not? Pelosi? Pelosi and Reid and Obama’s reputations?? For the most socialist piece of pigsh1t to cross Congress’ path since FDR’s crap?
Is it REALLY worth it? To vote for government healthcare that covers/mandates abortion? ON EASTER, you ‘Christian’ hypocrites???? How can you look at yourselves in the frigging mirror?
On the surface, the Dems can’t win on this. The GOP is refusing to vote for it, on principle. Even Cao has changed, so I hear. So they need all Democrat hands on deck to pass this.
But if it has abortion funding, the pro-lifers will refuse to vote for it. If it doesn’t have abortion funding, the baby-killer Dems will refuse to vote for it. If it has a “public option”, some Dems will refuse to vote for it. If it doesn’t have the “public option”, some Dems will refuse to vote for it.
Obama and Pelosi will resort to bribery and arm-twisting to get this done but I’m not sure even that will work.
“Twelve!”
I’m shocked any of them even made it that far. Of course, this automatically disqualifies any of them for the ‘Rat Presidential nomination/s
AGREED!!!
>> I believe the figures are that 40% of dems are against abortion.
Yet, they vote for it, I mean they vote for “choice”.
Frankly, I’m surprised there are that many!
And the Senate version allows that.
Don't buy into this guys act, he is full of $hit clear to his head! He ran adds after his last vote for the health care vote telling his people in Michigan how he held out to protect the lives of the unborn>
Bart Stupid is just another liberal progressive who will be in lockstep with the rest of his communist comrades in Washington!!
