I kept trying to read this post until I became so flustered that I actually clicked on the link to the actual article.

The thing that had me so flustered HERE .. Is what .. To my bigger frustration .. was also THERE on what you would expect to be a professionally written article!

Let me ask .. Am I wrong to think that ‘Defense’ is written as ‘Defense’ and no other way?

In Europe or elsewhere .. is ‘Defense’ spelled ‘Defence’?

In the United States it is. In Commonwealth countries, a 'c' replaces the 's'.

In Europe or elsewhere .. is ‘Defense’ spelled ‘Defence’?

Yes. There's a difference between U.S. and British spellings.
