Talk about a story that doesn't fit the headline. The body of the text doesn't even mention religion.

If anything, I'd imagine that the judge has issued an instruction to the defense that they can't make religion central to their argument, if they're going to be asserting an affirmative defense.

Yes, I was thinking that it would preclude the defense from saying he killed her in the name of religion.
