You’re a man with ownership over his own life—congrats!

I did not even see the Leno show on TV; I heard so many great things about it that I watched it later, online. I knew there had been a contingent of FReepers in the audience, and I felt like I could “hear” them, because they were laughing with “conservative emplasis” (if that makes sense) at all the right places.

I have been searching for the major flaws of Sarah Palin. Loved her book, still searching. I like just about everything the woman writes and says. I’d like her in some form of leadership for the conservative movement, and we’ve done a lot worse than to have a President Palin.

Here is the clincher: I love Adam Lambert. I have bought a lot of his songs. I hated what he did on national TV on that awards show. He comes from a very nice family, he is very bright and talented, and I am hoping he gets over his focus on his sexuality, because his fans have. He can interpret a song like nobody’s business. Check out Aerosmith’s “Crying.” Adam’s is BETTER.

Please don't equate Reagan's "using" the benign-by-comparison "pop culture" of his time with today's pop culture cesspool which Sarah is having fun tip-toeing through today.

If you think that "entertainment today" is the only way she can "break through the media-lock" on her, or garner admiration and respect from our citizenry by being a tabloid regular, then we have nothing further to say to each other.

If you've ever studied modern-era history of women who have risen to the top spots in their respective countries, I assure you they didn't attain their positions by being former stand-up comediennes or dancing with the stars.

I don't care what she does, believe me. I'm just saying that in my personal opinion she's not enhancing her resume. I've lost interest in her as a presidential candidate because of a variety of bad decisions she's made and seems hell-bent on continuing to do so.

Again, I don't believe she intends to run for the highest office in 2012.

the Daily Kos, Huffpo and DU have been foaming at the mouth all week about Sarah's "rock star" performance

Works for me.

Does American Idol ever have any male winners that are NOT gay?

I had never heard of Shaun White until last week either!

Two possible reasons:

One of the downsides of one network getting the contract for Olympic coverage seems to be that no other network ever mentions them.

or (my preferred reason)

The Olympics stress the competition between nations. Athletes march in with the flags of their countries. National anthems are played at medal ceremonies. Present day medialogues are anti-national and pro-global, and particularly, anti-American-patriotism, so they choose to ignore coverage of these athletes.

When Brian Williams? interviewed vp Biden after the opening ceremonies, he mentioned that his son was enthralled by a hockey player from Russia who is a star for the Washington Capitals, so he was planning to root for the Russian team at the Olympics. Williams asked Biden what he should tell him.

The Vice-president of the United States, officially representing the United States at that ceremony, replied that he would never presume to tell a parent how to raise a child!!!!!

Not one word about rooting for the "home" team for this tournament, and then root for the Capitals when this guy got back to DC.

Not one word about having any feeling for our own country to win at Something!!! Williams' child is a six-year-old. His future outlook on his citizenship is being formed now, and patriotism is apparently not a concern to VPOTUS.

You can lead a gift horse to water nine times, but you can never look in it's mouth.
Was that by Winston Churchill? Or, maybe Mark Twain?
I always get those two confused. ;)
On a similar note, I think that Governor Palin slightly mis-quoted Churchill and/or Twain here:
"It's like the old saying where a lie can travel halfway around the world before truth even has a chance to get its pants on in the morning."

especially after her endorsement and campaigning for McManiac.

To be fair, although I regret her decision, I admire her loyalty. She wouldn't be in the national spotlight without him. She kinda does owe the old liberal codger.

Can't really complain too much about Lambert since most of the '80s bands I loved in high school and college, and still listen to today, were pretty flambouyant and/or gay too:

Culture Club (gay), Erasure (gay), Bronski Beat (gay), Flock of Seagulls (flambouyant), Adam & the Ants (flambouyant), The Cure (flambouyant), etc, etc.

If Lambert fans like Palin, I say good!

I loved Adam Lambert on Idol last year (although I'm not so fond of his professional career so far), and I also have a lot of respect and admiration for Sarah Palin.
There's ANOTHER one! :o)
Funny. I've never seen you with black nails...

Thanks for the tip, I checked it out: good stuff. Even the line under the clip on The Daily Show site is positive.
