Cartel Violence: Red Cross in Mexico no longer treating gunshot victims
KGNS ^ | Mar 5, 2010

Even the Red Cross isn't safe from the vicious fighting across the border.

Clinics in Mexico are now refusing to accept victims with gun shot wounds out of fear of violence.

This after gunmen shot up an ambulance in Tampico, Tamaulipas only two blocks away from a Red Cross clinic.

In a separate incident on Sunday, a Red Cross volunteer was shot and killed during a gunfight in Sinaloa.

Twenty-year-old Maria Rogers was killed Sunday by a stray bullet when gunmen went into a red cross hospital trying to finish off a man who had been shot minutes earlier in a gunfight.

The man survived.

Rogers is the first Red Cross employee to be killed in the drug violence since President Felipe Calderon declared war on the cartels.

This is one of the strongest indications of just how bad things have gotten that I have seen in a while. Any chance people will start really paying attention now?

According to some of the NAFBPO reports, many of the gun shot victims, etc from Mexico are being brought to hospitals on the USA side (NO, we will never get paid) , because Mexico just can’t handle them. Often are reports of the narco terrorists breaking into hospitals to retrieve their compadres.

Yeah; if kidnapping and murder seeping across the boarder is not enough to make people pay attention this probably will not be enough either.

Did my internship at LAC USC med Center in LA. All prisoners went directly to the Jail Ward and bypassed the ER for that very reason, either people trying to finish the job, or liberate their buddies.

Also we had an episode with EMS where they were returning to the hospital and passed a drive by shooting just after it occured. They stopped and loaded the victims, were seen by the shooters who started shooting at the ambulance, chasing after it in their car. So the ambulance report to the hospital was:

” this is EMS unit 43 with two hispanic male patients with multiple gunshots we are code three 5 minutes out, and we are taking fire. Please have LAPD intercept to escort”....

And of course - this is just in time for Obama to resurrect "immigration reform".

You think he would use this as an argument in support? I would think you would not even want to down play it, just not talk about it and hope no one noticed.

No, not at all. I’m making the point that Obama wants more illegals to pour into the US (and they will from fear of the violence) to serve his master plan of making them citizens and beholden to the Rats.

I think I see what you are saying. Use the violence to convince more people to move to the US while somehow convincing the us that the none of the violence will follow; despite the fact that some of the violence is already here. It will be a tough sell, kind of curious how he would go about doing it.

The so called War on Drugs created this mess to begin with ...

Just as Prohibition saw the rise of the mafia, the WOD’s fueled the rise of the Mexican cartels.

When any item goes on the black market, not only does it mean control passes to a host of shady characters, add on top of that in drugs there is huge profit to be made, this is the only logical outcome.

The status qua the Government has created only serves to create more profit ... The cartels stay rich and in the mean time terrorize the Mexican and US border population, and the US government makes huge profit (court ordered counseling, fines, DEA, billions of dollars) and at the same time is one step closer to total authoritarian governing.

The government telling you what you can and can not consume is AUTHORITARIAN in nature.

I have absolutely no sympathy for Mexico and it’s people over this. This is not a result of anything America has to do with, and please spare me the drug argument (i.e American appetite for drugs;Mexicans do drugs too,) this is the result of a society that has no understanding or more to the point, no desire to live under a society built on the respect of and the rule of law but rather a ‘’me first, screw everybody else’’ mentality. This permeates Mexican society from every level, from the top down and the US is seen by Mexicans as the problem, never Mexico and Mexicans themselves. For 400 years these people have refused to change the situation and they obviously never felt the need to since they’re only one of two countries in all the world fortunate enough to share a border with the US. And in that regard Mexicans have a positive and pugnacious contempt for our sovereignty, our laws, our language our flag and our culture. And their damnable attitude is of a monumental gall and amounts to “Shut up Gringo, this is OUR land , you stole it. “”Educate us, provide us jobs, health care and speak OUR language in your country, you racists’’. F**k Mexico. Seal the damn border and let them destroy themselves. They’ve caused Americans enough trouble.

I gave up 'hope' on 9/12/01 - when no planes were airborne in the entire country - BUT THE BORDERS REMAINED OPEN!

And, every day since, many of those who sneak accross our open borders, are committing unspeakable crimes in this (OUR) country, maiming, molesting, raping, abusing, driving drunk, robbing, bringing in murderous gangs, and killing thousands more than were killed on 9/11.

Our ERs are being forced to shut down, people are afraid to drive on the streets and highways, CA is bankrupt, and AZ is running a close second. And now, our Senator, Mr. John McLettuce is trying to tell us that 'they are human, too'. Try telling that to those who's families have been destroyed by the damage these 'humans' have caused them. /rant

They don't need convincing. The violence itself is a reason for many to leave, but Obama opening up discussions of "immigration reform" should in itself, send tens of thousands pouring over the border into the U.S. in hopes of being granted citizenship.

The violence will more than likely stay in Mexico until they completely run the entire country. That's my take.....
