Happy Wednesday! The Gipper soon may be coming to a wallet near you, if a Republican lawmaker has his way.

I can think of a few reason that have nothing to do directly with Reagan.

No, Grant should not be replaced on the $50 bill. His Presidency aside, Grant saved The Union. And without Grant there'd be no PRESIDENT Obama, or even an MLK Jr.(1)

On the downside, due to General Grant beating Lee we have Jesse Jackson and Rev Al runnin' around hustling millions from Corps and the Gubmint. /s

So leave Grant alone. Pretty soon we'll need a $200 Bill to by bread anyway. Put Reagan on the new bill.

(1) I lived in Chi when MLK did his marching there in Marquette Park. He wasn't the 'peaceful protester' he's cracked up to be and his Halo ain't so shiny. In every march, behind all the Reverends where the gang bangers, and trouble always ensued.

I disagree. I think only the Founders should remain on our money - and that includes getting Lincoln, JFK, FDR, and Grant off of our money and replace them with John Jay, John Adams, Samuel Adams, and Crispus Attucks.

Reagan was great; however, he dosen't hold a candle to ANY of the Founding Fathers. I strongly object to such a change.

The Founders I'm afraid would be appalled by your suggestion. They wanted a nation of laws, not of men. And that is why they eschewed political figures on the money in favor of symbols of liberty and freedom and the occasional Indian or Buffalo.

Reagan helped draw a generation back to the Founding Fathers though. He was an evangelist for Freedom at a time where it was needed. I don’t object to the change.

"Sam Grant has earned his spot on the $ 50.00 leave him alone"

Roger that. In my book Grant was our greatest General and certainly deserves to stay right where he is. He got it done in our darkest hour.

The ten and the hundred have non-presidents on them, Hamilton on the ten, Franklin on the hundred. Put President Reagan on one of those.

Either that, or put him on the $10,000 in place of Salmon P. Chase. Ha.

Huh? Grant was a druken brawler who reintroduced total war to the world - and against what he described as "fellow Americans" - Grant a Lincoln are the models for Obama's federal power grabs.

Good idea. Maybe Reagan can take one of those slots. I'd rather see more Founders.

After Obama finishes devaluing the dollar, the $50 "Ronnie" will replace the $1 bill in most wallets.

I’m a Yankee living in the south, and I don’t think much of Grant either. He had a corrupt administration, so I imagine that Zero will want to support him.

Given Andrew Jackson’s animosity towards central banking, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if we replaced him with Reagan on the 20.

The only bill we have not redone is the One Dollar Bill, I would suggest modernizing that bill with Ronald Reagan on the front, and the Constitution on the back...
