If it was true that there was no basis for these allegations he should be fighting tooth and nail. He originally was going to announce he wasn’t running again because of health reasons. Then he announces that he’s stepping down immediately due to ethics investigations. I have to think there is something to the charge even though I don’t want him to step down.
