Health Care Battle Near an End?
Accuracy in Media ^ | March 5, 2010 | Roger Aronoff

President Obama went into the East Room at the White House on March 3rd and talked about bringing the health care "journey to a close." He is giving the Republicans one more chance to sign on to the Democrat's health care legislation, or else he is prepared to move forward without their cooperation. And this time, apparently, he really means it, in spite of the fact that an overwhelming number of polls show, several by as much as 15 or more points, that the public is opposed to such legislation.

Shortly thereafter, on MSNBC, news anchor Tamron Hall said that "at that summit that we all watched for seven hours the President did say in the end that this may boil down to just key differences, that the Republicans do not believe in a huge government intervention in health care, and it is something the Democrats have wanted for many, many years, and it boils down to that."

She is absolutely correct. That is the crux of the debate, though few on the Democrats' side are willing to be so blunt about it. Most on the left, including President Obama, try to claim that this does not represent a "huge government intervention," and that Republicans want no intervention, both of which are patently false.

I worry more about Obama's lie, since he intends to gamble with the health care of 300 million Americans.

Obama lied, too, when he pretended he could be a disinterested moderator of the health care summit.

Obama's fingerprints are all over the bills

The pubbies have to keep talking about how many ways they are going to hold up the reconcilliation process in the Senate. That way, not only do we have Stupak’s people not voting for it, but the Dems who would vote for it if the Senate takes the Cadillac health insurance tax off through reconcilliation won’t vote for it either.

GOP message to wavering Dems has to be loud and clear.

Whatever deal you cut with Obama to vote yes on this, we will expose it, publicly humilate you, and then cut off its funding ten minutes after we retake the majority.

If a Republican of any testicular fortitude exists, I would like to see them go to the floor and attack BO and his good WEINER friend like this:

For years and years, the Democrat party viciously attacked the pharmaceutical industry for advertising on tv, for charging a lot for drugs, etc. etc.

YOU NEVER HEAR THAT FROM THE DEMOCRATS ANY MORE! Why?

The answer is because the White House began holding secret meetings with BIG PHARMA in February of 2009, enlisting their support IN EXCHANGE for a measure of protection in the health care bill. Former Republican representative Billy Tauzin, a chief lobbyist for Big Pharma, was one of the people involved.

After getting the pharmaceutical companies on board, the White House needed a NEW target to demonize. So the INSURANCE COMPANIES became the enemy.

SOMEONE IN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, PLEASE WAKE UP AND MAKE THESE FACTS KNOWN LOUD AND CLEAR!

I swear, the Republican message machine is soooooooooooo weak.

And since Obama has tried to use ever dirty trick ever invented by Government to pass it, it will give the Pubbies the moral authority to use all of those dirty tricks to repeal it. Reconcilliation to repeal this garbage....

from the article:
President Obama is as determined as ever to get it done, betting that doing nothing would be worse for his presidency than forcing passage of something; anything.

In other words, Obama is being selfish.

He wants Democratic politicians to wreck their political careers by voting for a bill he thinks he needs to save his career.

Maybe the president should sacrifice his one career for the sake of saving the careers of dozens of fellow Democrats.

Isn't that what a "messiah" does?

If I thought ‘the end’ were a stake through the heart, decapitation with a mouth full of garlic, and buried at a crossroads, I’d be all for it. This is going to keep coming back again and again, just like Dracula.

A national socialized health care program can be defeated and scrapped at any time. All that's needed is for a grass-roots movement to start that demands that *all* Americans are subject to whatever we implement.

Not even liberals - heck, not even communists - could disagree with that.

Whatever we can say about the lib/dems, they are not totally stupid and unless they are all dyed in the wool socialists like nobama, they won’t easily fall on his sword for the sake of Lenin or FDR or nobama. He ONLY wants the dems in Congress to hati-kari, if he was equally intense, he would go on TV and say “if I can not pass nobamacare, I will resign”.

All this publicity ain’t for us, its for his dem congress.

Most dems truly recognize and beleive that “Whatever deal you cut with Obama to vote yes on this, we will expose it, publicly humilate you, and then cut off its funding ten minutes after we retake the majority”. What’s most important to every Congresscriter, especially the dems? Their cushie-ass job!

Nobamacare has been dead since they couldn’t work it out for their Aug. 2009 “do or die deadline”. Its just like a whale washed up on the beach, it may still a slight bit of life, but not for long and it’ll never swim again.
