**The White House: President Obama keeps minding his purple states with his travel this week to sell health care, starting with a morning visit today to the Philadelphia area, to be followed this Wednesday with a trip to one of the ultimate bellwether states, Missouri. Expect to continue hearing the president call for an “up or down vote” in the Senate for his plan, even though the real effort is in getting the votes in the House. The first deadline set by the White House is for that House vote to occur by next Thursday, when Obama leaves for an extended overseas trip.

Not to nitpick but haven’t the Dems had control of Congress for a couple of the last 10? Couldn’t they have written a bill then?

There are 5 “fixes” to healthcare:

1. Enforce the border
2. Interstate competition
3. Tort reform
4. Encourage private sector job growth, they help cover costs as a perk package
5. Prevention programs (e.g. make kids have gym class)

Obama acknowledged the heavy political lift involved – trying to gain passage of a bill that a majority of Americans do not like or even necessarily understand. But, he said, he will push to pass reform regardless of the political consequences.

Opponents of reform are also pulling out the heavy artillery. A conservative group called the American Future Fund launched a TV ad campaign in the districts of 18 Democratic House members, reportedly at a cost of $900,000. All 18 members voted for reform last November; 11 represent districts won by Republican presidential nominee John McCain in 2008. As the November midterm elections draw nearer, those are among the most endangered Democrats.

After Obama’s speech Monday, Republican leaders fired back. House minority leader John Boehner (R) of Ohio called the president’s pitch “heavy on snake oil, light on reality.”

Republicans are not the issue. It’s the Democratic caucus he needs to bring on board

I found some photos from the Tea Party protest at Arcadia today, on the Yahoo Photo Wire. I hope some Freepers post an AAR, Here's the photos that made the News Wire so far:

He should be scolding his own party leaders for failing to deliver the votes. The Democrats controlled the House and had a filibuster-proof supermajority in the Senate and still couldn’t get it done. That’s a huge legislative FAIL by any measure.

Is it just me, or does Obozo seem even more shrill and desperate than he usually is? Can I take that as a good sign that he finally knows he's losing it?

He’s asking for the Republicans help, actually begging, because he needs to win something.....anything. Once he looses this one, his Presidency is finished and he knows it. He’s lost the trust of the people and other leaders of the world. After one year, he’s a lame duck President just full filling his one and only term.

Since the Feds are unable to even protect our borders and deport illegal aliens, I certainly do not trust them with something as complex as our health care system.

At this point, I don’t trust them to do just about anything right including taking out the trash. Progressives need to go. I know it could be a long battle but just look at how long they salavated to get control of the WH, our education system and on and on. They have to go and the train they rode in on! A bunch of idiots following the king of idiots, 0.

Add a massive crackdown on fraud to that list. Medicare and Medicaid fraud alone is estimated to be costing us up to a huge one third of the costs of these programs.
What we need is an agency, with very sharp teeth, preferably private and outside the government, that is charged with the job, and staffed by some of the toughest investigators you can find, who's entire business consists of cracking down on Medicare/Medicaid fraud, who are paid according to how much money they save tax payers. The laws should also be changed so that the organized Medicare?Medicaid fraud outfits who are making billions from ripping off tax payers, can have all their property seized, and face very long jail sentences of up to 30 years in jail.

“Which Reps in particular, please?”

From a previous post on FR by FrdmLvr:

Call these representatives and tell them to vote NO on 0bamacare and that the later amendments won’t undo the harm! Ask them: “What’s the rush?” It won’t be implemented for years anyway.
