NO amendment is needed, life is explicitly protected by the Fifth Amendment.
The consensus that is needed is a consensus in SCOTUS that recognizes that the explicit right to life protected by the Constitution, trumps the implicit right to privacy also held by the people.
Do you know why liberals are pro-abortion and conservatives are anti-abortion. It is because at the heart of each liberal is a control freak. At the heart of each conservative is a libertarian. Liberals want to make every decision, to include who is and who is not allowed to be born. Conservatives want to live in piece, and let live. Ironically, it is always the conservatives who have to kill in order to protect the liberal control freaks who are not willing to fight.
The pro life issue trumps ALL others in my mind. I get worried when I hear so many Republicans these days talking about how fiscal matters now trump everything.
In theory I agree with you. However, I have some concerns if the SCOTUS rules the right to life is explicitly protected by the Constitution. I have visions of the same people who are pro abortion having pregnant women lead out of McDonald’s in handcuffs for eating a Big Mac because they’re endangering a fetus.
