HuffPo Demands Rich Pay 'Fair Share' in Death Tax
Newsbusters ^ | 03/09/10 | Anthony Kang

Imagine the audacity of wanting to dispose of your own money as you see fit? The idea is hateful to Bill Scher of the Huffington Post, who demanded in "Super Wealthy Deathly Afraid Estate Tax Would Reduce Deficit" on March 9 that the wealthy "pay their fair share."

Scher railed against the Bush tax cuts, and asserted that a 35-45 percent inheritance penalty (the estate tax or death tax) isn't punitive enough to stem the deficit crisis.

"But those massive tax breaks to the superwealthy don't quite have the same juice they used to. Especially, the estate tax - levied on the inheritances of the wealthiest heirs in America," Scher wrote. "This year, because of the Bush tax plan from his first term to gradually phase out the estate tax altogether, the estate tax is literally wiped off the books."

Taxes have already been paid on that money when it was generated as income. It shouldn’t have to be taxed again just because it changed hands at someone’s death. Vultures.

I keep finding myself wanting to tell these a$$holes:

It's not your money. If you want it, at least have the guts to come and try to steal it yourselves, instead of using the government to do your dirty work for you. Me? I'll be waiting for you, locked and loaded. Scared? You had better be.

Why not go all they way.
In National socialist Germany all estates were confiscated by the STATE.
You were allowed to run the business and IF the State decided you were worthy you would get a %age. After 5 years if you were a good little Fascist you woukld get the estate back.

HuffPO and their idiot posters don’t have a clue.

So what, exactly, is a “fair share” for the relatively small group that already shells out about 70% of all income taxes paid in this country.

Hey, huffandpuff, if you would treat all citizens equally you would not be unhappy. Funny how treating others as you would have them treat you achieves happiness. Now, tell me again why people with more money than I should be treated differently? Expecting other people to buy you things is sort of unrealistic, no?

Double (triple actually) taxation is unfair.

You are taxed on income. You are again taxed when you spend that money on goods and services. And you are taxes on the interest the savings acrue. If you have any left over when you are deceased, it is further taxed.

You want to make a leftist crawl back in his hole,
use the argument you just used. I’ve done it. Challenged a guy to get up and walk across the room and take my wallet.

Leftists are a bunch of thieving cowards. They steal YOUR money by proxy, but wouldn’t have the guts to try it themselves.

Trillions have been looted from the national wealth under a redistribution scheme called “bailouts”.

It was payback to political supporters (including ACORN).

Next time they preach pacifism at an anti-American war rally (pro-Palestinian, pro-Marxist, antisemitic, pro-Communist imperialism rally), shove them in the shoulder and then ask whey they are striking back.

My family is going through this right now, we are going to have to sell the family farm to pay the $500,000+, plus the $200,000 Illinois estate tax. Farm has been in the family for over 175 years.. Soon to be gone...

The funny part is that most super wealthy will never ever pay under any laws that might be passed because their money is not kept here in America. The laws they pass will fall onto those who are not so rich and will cause much greif for those who want to keep a farm or small buisness in the family though.

I've done it too, and if nothing else, it succeeds in stripping away the flimsy veneer of compassion from leftists whose true intention is robbery by proxy, often not so much to enrich themselves as to assuage their misplaced pity.
