Lindsey Graham to President Obama: Time to ‘step it up’

By: Glenn Thrush March 10, 2010 04:31 AM EST

President Barack Obama is summoning two key senators to the Oval Office on Thursday for an update on immigration reform efforts — but one of them, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), thinks Obama should be the one giving the update.

Graham, less than thrilled at the notion of providing the equivalent of a book report to the headmaster in chief, said Obama’s lack of direction on immigration reform is hampering Graham’s efforts to recruit additional Republicans to the cause.

“At the end of the day, the president needs to step it up a little bit,” Graham told POLITICO on Tuesday. “One line in the State of the Union is not going to do it.”

For the past six months, Graham and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) — who meet with Obama at 3 p.m. Thursday — have worked on a reform framework. Their plan, which hasn’t been introduced yet, includes a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants (a liberal must-have) while sweetening the pot for moderates by proposing tough new safeguards, including a biometric national ID card for workers.

To the frustration of many reform advocates, Obama has kept his opinions of the possible deal vague, giving a head nod to reform in his State of the Union speech but not much more.

’ Graham’s efforts to recruit additional Republicans to the cause’

Fool. ‘Reform’, aka Amnesty will be the final nail in the coffin of Obama before the election. Graham is pathetic.

Graham cannot be this idiotic. Is he secretly setting the democrats up hoping they’ll walk into his trap? Everyone knows, especially in an election year that amnesty is poison.

Yeah, and where is the fence authorized in the Secure Fence Act of 2006? These open borders goons are shameless.

I wish this guy was up for reelection this year. Too bad we have to wait until 2014 to depose him.

Isn’t it hard to believe that someone hasn’t slipped some mysteriously poisonous bullfrog legs or something in Lindsey Graham’s meal at the local diner?

I’m just shocked he is still walking around, on the loose, out there. Can’t believe a good ol’ boy hasn’t straightened him out....

I imagine illegal immigration will become a hotter topic as we near the November elections. The dims need something to distract the American sheeple from the train wreck that is ObamaCare and paint Republicans as racist xenophobes. The question here is why is our good friend LG bringing it up?

People of South Carolina need to drive a bus over this guy and make him road kill before he kills us.

Dincha get the word? It's a "virtual" fence. A virtual fence for a virtual border.

Lindsey Graham is a "virtual" Republican.

a biometric national ID card

Innocent American citizens didn't screw up illegal immigration. Our own government was negligent. Americans shouldn't be punished, and asked for "their papers, please" because the politicians failed us.

Why not "create" a few hundred thousand jobs by sending people down to our southern border to build that fence we were promised? That way, only the guilty suffer the consequences of illegal immigration, and the innocent Americans remain free.

Leave our freedoms alone. No national ID tag. We're not cattle. We're humans.

And and time for pansy Lindsay to step down before his sordid background is scraped from someone’s shoe.

And Graham’s friend McCain, now facing a tough primary challenge from anti-immigration-reform conservative J.D. Hayworth, said he hasn’t even spoken with Graham about supporting the latest proposal.

Everyone who believes that raise their hand. Juan is shameless in his hypocrisy as he tries to hoodwink his way to another six years in the Senate.

And again we have Lindsey, doing the work Juan won't do (in a reelection year).

I’m almost thinking this. Nobody could be this stupid.

He tried Cap and Trade and now it’s dead. Totally dead. Now he’s not just pushing amnesty but pushing it 110%.

If he’s doing this on purpose, it’s brilliant and gutsy. It’s just that...I’ve known Graham for too long.

It wouldn't be long before the left wing activists "accidentally" start to lose their cards, or claim they've been stolen. The government will then "have no choice" but to demand the chips be implanted under our skin:
"for our own good."
"For our protection."
"For the sake of the children."
Afterword, the government would be able to track anyone, anywhere, at any time. Think of what the politicans could do with that much power.

And when they all become legal to vote in South Carolina who do you think they are going to vote for? You? Or Democrat ACORN Organizer Juan Sanchez?
