If recollection serves it a was femal author.
Any anyone direct to an online source?
Thanks but not it.
Thanks but not it.
I searched for the words in their link and came up with this:
http://www.usactuary.com/ogden2000/Raging_Against_Self_Defense.html
By Sarah Thompson, MD
They claim that a gun escalates conflict and makes it deadly -- and that routine conflicts wouldn't be deadly if the gun wouldn't be present.
The reason: they believe that the only thing that keeps them from committing a crime with a gun is not having a gun. Note that them is the hoplophobe -- not some other random person.
They don't believe they have the self-control to prevent themselves from hurting someone, so their solution is to stay away from the gun.
And of course, since they believe they don't have enough self-control, they don't believe that anyone else does, either.
In all seriousness, someone who has so little faith in their self control needs professional help from a psychologist or psychiatrist. But, instead, they are manipulated into supporting real gun-grabbers -- who have a more insidious agenda.
You’re welcome. When you find the paper you’re looking for, please post the title and link in this thread and ping me. Thanks!
This is indeed the case. This predisposition of these psychological types towards barely concealed rage and loss of control is also evident with regard to other triggers and issues beside guns. For example, if you tell them that man-made climate change is a fraud, or criticize Obama, etc. or contradict them in just about any way, they'll often lose it and explode in rage.
The bottom line is they're simply unstable, dangerous people.
Bingo
Thanks
