Not just the next thing, this is a KEY component to the healthcare bill that's not a bill.
Remember, Pelozi said, "Diet, not diabetes". This card will be required to be presented when buying food. Once the rest of the population has an 'interest' in you being 'healthy', they will have a say in what you eat.
Rationing salt, butter, fats, soda, sugar, alcohol, meat... all will be tied to the 'public good' either because of health or the environment.
Not the ideals of liberty our forefathers fought for.

I carry my U.S. Passport. I had to present it along with my drivers licence to get a PO Box last December. We don’t need ID cards if we have a VALID U.S. Passport!
In every country that I have worked I have had to present a VALID nation ID and my U.S. Passport.
Eexpanding the Passport Office would work. BTW, when I lost my passport a few years ago I had ot present my LONG FORM BIRTH CERTIFICATE to get a new one issued!
This is a false choice.
The government already has every tool it needs to enforce the immigration laws.
No ID card is incapable of being faked.
And no ID card is a substitute for a lack of the will of the Federal government to enforce the law.
Both parties in Congress have failed to protect the people and States from invasion, as required by the Constitution.
This card has one purpose—control.
And Americans need to say “ENOUGH!”

Reminds me of Gattaca. I’ve served my country in various ways for most of my adult life. I’m afraid I would have to decline participation in a National ID Card program. And I mean that sincerely.

The crux of the problem: The TSA et al are so worried about being criticized that they’re putting scarce resources into ludicrous and ineffective “security measures”. Makes me wanna puke.

Here is our dilemma. If we as Patriotic Americans want to make sure that our country is not overrun by illegal aliens, then there must be a verifiable way to identify them and deport them. So how do we do that without trampling upon our own liberties?
Easy.....
It would take just a few of us, VOLUNTARILY, to wear ICE hats and clothing...and start yelling MIGRA MIGRA. You can pick out the illegals real easily....they will be the ones RUNNING AWAY. With law enforcement nearby to round them up....you gather up illegals.....with little effort....AND NO SURRENDER OF AMERICAN RIGHTS.
People like Lindsey Graham, John McCain, La Raza/Hispanic Ku Klux Klan, and others who support Illegal Alien Amnesty....are nothing more than ANTI-AMERICAN BIGOTS. You do not need to trample on American citizen rights to deport and kick out Illegal Aliens

We’ve served together as reserve JAGs, and his work ethic and legal judgment are excellent. I don’t know what he’s thinkin’ on these initiatives, because they fly in the face of national security.
