Explosions in Kandahar as Taliban target prison

The biggest explosion targeted Kandahar’s prison, in what is believed was an attempt to free Taliban inmates, according to Reuters' reports.
Ahmad Wali Karzai, who was in the capital Kabul, said: “The main target was the prison. The prison is very well guarded.
“We don’t know about the casualties. It was a very big explosion. It was a huge explosion.”
He claimed the other blasts were intended as diversions to draw police away from the prison, which is on the outskirts of the city.
A police source in Kabul told Reuters four suicide bombers had attacked Kandahar and had also fired rockets into the prison.
