Catholic Bishops Send Message To Faithful: We Oppose ObamaCare

The Obama administration last week week attempted to argue that Catholic bishops didn’t oppose the Senate version of the ObamaCare bill as a way of “proving” that the bill won’t fund abortions. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has responded by asking parishes to post and/or read aloud a statement that clarifies their position on the bill, which is adamant opposition. In the statement that many Catholic parishioners will find greeting them as they attend Mass, the USCCB not only declares its opposition but also urges Catholics to contact their elected representatives in Washington to stop it:

“In the insert, the Bishops again urge Catholics to contact their House and Senate members urging them to oppose the Senate Health Care Bill unless changes regarding abortion funding, conscience and immigrants are made.”

The Marxist ideology of the Bishops is made transparent in their own notice on this issue; for acceptance of all the other Marxist gimmicks in the legislation, sans the few they say they oppose, they would have no alert on this issue because they fully support the rest of the bill.

This is how they have been losing Western Europe to the Marxists for decades - making alliances of convenience on “social issues”, caring NOT one twit about the building of Marxist societies - while the Marxists love their support, and in the end care not one twit about the bishops moral concerns. Once they have their political majorities, with the help of the leftist-dominated Catholic intellectuals, in and out of the church, they readily dismiss the fig leaf of shared concerns on moral issues.

When Americans look back at the shame of this era, they will hold the USCCB partly responsible.

I just got back from church, and they didn’t read any such statement at my parish. Instead they asked us all to take a postcard to send in to demand immigration reform. ***sigh***
