Thanks to both for the links.

Is the Goldwater Institute named after the 1964 Barry Goldwater or after the senile, socially liberal version? I ask because Paton’s ratings from other groups show him to be strongly conservative on social issues, and if the Goldwater Institute is pro-abortion and pro-special rights for gays it could have hurt Paton’s rating from the group.

Of course, Paton’s ratings from other groups also show him to be far from conservative on economic issues, and maybe that, and that alone, is how he got his C grade from the Goldwater Institute.

I detest that bucktoothed little Bolshevik and will vote for whoever wins the GOP primary. I would vote for a rattlesnake over Giffords.

AuH2O,

Not sure on the answer to your question on the Goldwater Inst. but the link is below. I do know that it appears when you do a search for Conservative sites.

Thanks.

Paton was given a B- in the 2009 legislative report card; the average grade for a Republican legislator was a B.

I scanned through the votes that they measured, and while the Goldwater Institute has a bit of a libertarian bent (for example, it took points away from legislators that voted to increase penalties for marijuana possession), I didn’t find any abortion- or gay-rights-related votes in the list.

Another one you can’t ever get through to is Dahlkemper. Apparently she just doesn’t care if her constituents call her about any topic whatsoever.
