You got to know Zero thoroughly enjoyed that ride to Ohio with that DUNCE.
Must take exception to that...
Kucinich is the problem, but his district has been gerry-mandered to the extreme to assure he keeps getting re-elected. He's been seen as a "friend" to the "working class", steel/auto workers, and etc., but that may actually change with this latest "stunt" (he barely survived a "recall" as the "boy mayor" years ago - maybe this time round he'll be eventually un-elected again?!)
Cleveland also has been under Democratic rule for two decades, and it hasn't improved things. The city government's been involved in several corruption investigations the last couple years, and we passed a reform last November to change to a "regional" government rather than "city by city"...hopefully that will be an improvement, but time will tell...
However, to call us a "filthy dump" is a little over the top! We have the world-class Cleveland Clinic (don't like them, but they're top-notch), also the "best band in the land" (who I do like!) and many other good things, besides, that you must have overlooked on your January visit! The neighborhoods, the restaurants, the parks, the lake/rivers, the museums, the sports teams, the theatres...the weather's not great, but the people are (except for the ones who aren't, but they're the minority over-all)...
So...where are you from? ; )
Freegards!
lol...How low have we sunk....
Please see my reply at post 162...it's amazing what can be done with gerry-mandering, among other other things, and we have the same problems with ignorant, leftist and "ACORN"-type voters as every other large city/county does...you don't need a majority of the community, you just need the majority in your district...and there are always plenty of votes to be "got out", somehow...
I’m sorry you took offense to my opinion of Cleveland. I was there for 3 days and I’d prefer to never return. I have family who live there and they seem to like it OK. However, I did visit the Sandusky area to your West a few years ago for a Walleye fishing trip. I thought the place was beautiful and the people were outstanding.
I live about 70 Miles East of Nashville, TN. in the Defeated Creek area of Smith Co.
; )
(I'm a "constituent" - makes me crazy! but when it comes to not being fans of "Dennis!", I think I'm less in the minority now than I was yesterday...)
They may have misjudged it this time, although probably not...for the original 60/40 split district, they've probably added twice as many Democrat voters as GOP/conservatives. It's demographics, "get out the vote" activities, and also a long history here of voting Democrat, back when the Democrats weren't the Progressives.
That last voter group isn't stupid, they're just worried about their families, jobs, homes and retirement savings/pensions. They're the ones that worked back in the day when we actually made things here besides computer chips. They don't understand the "new politics", but I hope they're beginning to. For instance, "cap and trade" is not something that's going to be helpful.
Bit by bit, things might change here - we have a lot of fishermen here, and if whichever Federal agency tries to close off the lake Erie fishing (due to "over-fishing", don't ya know, not Asian carp or zebra mussels), that will be another "little" outrage.
Tennessee is a beautiful state from what I've seen...a lot different from the old port/industrialized cities up here, although we have a lot of rural areas in Ohio too...it's all good, and I hope Defeated Creek has a big celebration when ObamaCare is Defeated! You might be able to make a pretty cool rally poster or something, with that intriguing name! ; )
