Insurance companies' love of Obamacare
WND ^ | 3-18-2010 | michael master

If you don't believe that insurance companies want this bill, then why are these politicians promoting it when they receive so much money from insurance companies?

According to statistics maintained by the Center for Responsive Politics, in the 2010 mid-term elections, Democrats have drawn 55 percent of insurance-related contributions, compared with 45 percent for Republicans.

The top three Senate recipients for insurance industry contributions – all Democrats – are Sens. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., Chris Dodd, D-Conn., and Harry Reid, D-Nev., according to the Center's research. And in the House, it's another trio of Democrats: Reps. Melissa Bean, D-Ill., Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., and Barney Frank, D-Mass.

According to the Wall Street Journal of April 30, 2007, Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer received a combined total of $2.4 million from the insurance companies.

The Center for Responsive Politics shows that President Obama received a staggering $20,175,303 from the health-care industry during the 2008 election cycle, nearly three times the amount of his presidential rival, John McCain.

Americans are being conned. Obama and the insurance companies are putting on a show. While they act like they are at odds with each other about this "insurance" legislation, they are in agreement about it as Democrats and insurance companies con America.

Just like the bail outs of banks, AIG, and Wall Street, Democrats are doing the bidding of insurance companies to the detriment of we the people ... we the tax payers.

American patriots need to take to the streets to end it.

“Why would insurance cos support something that will eventually put them out of business ( single payer in the future) ??????”

I have pondered your question, myself. I think they believe they can get the benefit, “everyone must have insurance” and obtain changes which would put them under.

On the other hand, I do remember Hitler initially had the support of industry and churches.

The insurance companies will make more form the government for contracting and “administrating” the “plan” than the ever could from selling policies. Basically the Feds will pay them to build the walls that keep us out of the system.

Especially the traitors AARP!

This is from a 2007 contact list of congressional aides. Some might not be there any longer, but worth a try. The ones on the one post are senate aides, a few have bounced back, it’s worth the effort to clog up their email system along with the phones, and 1/3rd of these senators are up for re-election.

Contact congressional aides.

The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

And here are toll-free numbers we can use to call any Senators or Reps.

At the first number below you must wait through a tape recording urging you to tell your Rep or Senator to vote “yes” for the health care bill. Just hang on and when the recording is over, you will get the Capitol operator. Just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Then you will either talk to an aid or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.

When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Every time I use this number I get the Rep or Senator’s answer machine, so it may be set up that way all the time...to go to their answer machine. Either way you can leave a message to vote NO on the health care bill!

We need to use these toll free numbers that have been set up for the health care/ BO supporters and illegals to use! After all they are FREE!

And this also explains something else. If the insurance companies are so against Obamacare,,then why have so many raised their rates by shocking amounts, during the very month that Obamacare is being considered?

Their action besically “proves” the “crisis”, and helps to ensure it passes. It doesn’t pass the straight face test.

They are supporting their own demise. Even if they have a role somehow in the administration of health care, they will still be vassals of the government.

Would not surprise me one bit...I trust insurance companies as much as I do government.

The insurance companies don’t think that this will put them out of business. They think that they will be managing the single payer government insurance, much the way they manage the insurance for large companies who self insure.

What actually happens is that he insurance companies slow down the payments to doctors and hospitals and make a profit on the money while it is in their hands. Aetna seems to be particularly good at this.

This is pure fascism. You will see favored insurers rise to the top and the small more efficient insurers will be driven out of business. The Obama administration is working on this type of fascistic relationship in all industries. BP seems to be their favored partner in the oil industry.

Of course they do, because it will mean guaranteed customers for life, with no competition. The fact of the matter is, most insurance companies don't make a profit on gross sales, they make a profit on the net left over - the "fee" if you will, for providing an intermediation service (assisting two strangers to transfer funds amongst themselves) just the same way that banks make money on the few basis points of difference between the rate at which they borrow money and the rate at which they lend it back out. For your typical insurance executive, Obastardcare means a guarantee of very high sales volume, and no competitive pressure to reduce prices, which means that the net margins will have no pressures to prevent them from expanding - other than those from the political overlords, but they can be easily bought off - as they have been (all socialists end up becoming corporatists, because they get captured by those with the lucre to pay them off) - all of which means that the pay packets of insurance executives will balloon out of control under Obastardcare, and as those prices go sky-high, we will end up paying the bill as the fascists in the government in charge of rationing our healthcare will clamp down harder and harder, imposing more and more draconian limits on our ability to get even basic healthcare and keep ourselves from dying prematurely.

If they wanted to keep the money of big business from mounting a political campaign against Zer0’s policies, all they have to do is throw out money incentives to keep them quiet. I think this tactic is at play.
