In the early 20th century, the government started to build roads. It was a no-brainer. People all over the country were buying cars -- it was easy to see that highways needed to be improved.
The same goes for airports.
That was when Oil was dirt cheap and we didn't have to import it from the OPECkers.
Now it's time to rebuild the passenger rail system to modern 21st Century standards.

I'm a die hard train fan anyway (pappy and grand pappy on trains), I would love to see passenger service......

Sorry majority of Americans prefer to fly or drive... Trains are for losers who like to live in the past..
