Ohio Democrats John Boccieri of Alliance and Charlie Wilson of St. Clairsville came off the fence on health care today and announced they'll support the $940 billion package the House of Representatives will consider on Sunday.

Boccieri announced his decision at a Capitol Hill press conference surrounded by constituents with difficulties who are having difficulties finding medical insurance and paying health care bills.

"These families are the face of the 16th congressional district and the face of Ohio," Boccieri said. "A lot of people are telling me this decision could cost me my job. There are a lot of lies and fearmongering."

Boccieri voted against the bill the House of Representatives approved last year because he felt that it would cost too much. The old version of the bill cost more than $1 trillion.

That is not a lie John. If you are afraid, it’s not fearmongering, it’s fearing reality.

Got it ... a trillion is too much ... but 940 billion is a bargain. ... Right ...

“Their chances of getting re-elected is now nil.”

Boccieri doesn’t have the luxury of a totally looney district like Kucinich has. Boccieri will pay for this with his job. I hope he’s ok with that?

One thing that history has taught us, is that we NEVER learn from history. The system that is broken, will hit the fan, and no one will control the fall out, marshall law will go into affect, and we will follow the example of Nazi Germany and fiscally bankrupt Argentina.

The President's arrogance has rubbed off on these two!

Get this: it is not about your job! It is about the future liberty of a nation! You two, and all your arrogant fellow Democrats are to be merely the "tools" by which the Founders' protections for "the People's" liberty was submerged and the "light of liberty" dimmed for the entire world.

Read these from John Adams and see your role for what it is:

"John Adams, The Works of John Adams, vol. 4 (Novanglus, Thoughts on Government, Defence of the Constitution) - NO. III. - paragraph 144

Obista principiis (translation: resist the beginnings), nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers, and destroyers press upon them so fast, that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon the American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour. The revenue creates pensioners, and the pensioners urge for more revenue. The people grow less steady, spirited, and virtuous, the seekers more numerous and more corrupt, and every day increases the circles of their dependents and expectants, until virtue, integrity, public spirit, simplicity, and frugality, become the objects of ridicule and scorn, and vanity, luxury, foppery, selfishness, meanness, and downright venality swallow up the whole society."

Ah well, stupid is as stupid does. Apparently, Rep. Bocci-ball hasn't quite got enough brain cells to figure out that Obastardcare is going to mean that it will be harder, not easier, for his constituents to get healthcare. Somebody now needs to start dialing up those same constituents who cannot get health insurance and make sure that they know that their representative just chose to make it even harder for them to get it. Effing, thieving DEEM-ocrat.

A lot of people are telling me this decision could cost me my job

The reality is this does not matter. These Congressmen no longer work for the voters of their district. They work for the Democrat party. All the favors and all the payoffs will be paid for by higher-ups in the party that control the government machinery and money. Those people have a huge pool of cash and jobs to use as currency. With every day that passes, the voter becomes less relevant.

“Boccieri will pay for this with his job. I hope he’s ok with that?”

Meh, it’s not what you know it’s who you know. This will guarantee he gets a cushy job somewhere within the Democratic establishment (government, lobby firm, made up job somewhere just to pay him off, etc, etc) - probably one that will pay much more and without so much public scrutiny.

A lot of this is to be expected. I’d wager that Pelosi had one or two votes packed away and ready to trot out today.

She’s still short, or she would have named the 216 by now.

She has until dawn tomorrow, I think. If she opens the last day without an assurance of passing this, I think that votes begin to defect.

It is not a good omen for her that this is coming down to the wire as it has. I don’t doubt her skills, and I think there is a decent chance that she wins; but I don’t believe the odds are as favorable as Intrade and others suggest.

She absolutely must project confidence and swagger. Anything short of that and she’s done. She has only a few hours more to get her ducks in a row.

I will NOT be surprised when she comes up short.

And I’ll bet most of them are like that Canfield woman Obama used as a prop in his last dog and pony show. Awwww... she had to drop her health care insurance....but then we find out that she could receive treatment at Cleveland Clinic for free.
