You know the hardest thing about modern times is that the stay at home Mother, the most basic thing for a baby, is almost out of reach of anyone but the well to do.
Babies need Mothers,,it is the fundamental building block for a happy life, an ability to love and to be loved. Without that, nothing is worth anything.
Not only do women have no support for this, they are ridiculed by most, and they have to be told “yes, this is the most important thing you will ever do”.
We, in my generation knew that by instinct. It is almost as if the instincts of women are being overcome by the culture.
I may not be able to watch or hear about this today. The only refuge is the family around me, my garden and my books.
