Moderate snowfall fell Saturday night throughout the Dallas area, and a winter weather advisory is in effect until 7 a.m.
With the temperature inching toward freezing, area roads figure to be slick overnight and early Sunday.

Was almost 80 degrees in NYC today.
It’s snowing even harder than it did the day we got 6 to 12 inches (Dallas). The difference is that it’s been warm lately, so it took a while to start sticking, and I doubt if it’ll snow all night and all day like it did that day. But, we’ve got a nice accumulation going on the grass. Since we don’t get it much, I love it.
I should never have turned the lawn sprinkler system on yesterday. Damn snow.
Dang. I stayed inside today and didn’t open the shades. Didn’t realized there was snow just outside until I read this on the internet!

It's the same ole story for Oklahoma however... nothing different here, according to my relatives who have lived here for all their lives... :-)

North Texas is close to record annual snowfall this year. We now have 3 more inches of Global Warming in our yard.
My cousin was telling me weeks ago (over a month ago) to expect a March snowstorm. And that wasn't based on Gore, but on a lifetime of experience in Oklahoma and March snowstorms... doncha know... :-)
Oh..., and we had one last year at the end of March, too... about 8 inches of snow in Tulsa.

I was riding the bicycle around in 71 degree weather on Friday afternoon, and knew that the snowstorm was coming on Saturday... :-)
We knew this was arriving a few days before and so we all were enjoying the warm weather while it was still warm, before the snows hit.

State of Emergency Declared in Preparation for Winter Storm

Oklahoma City — State officials declared a state of emergency late Friday in all 77 of Oklahoma’s counties in preparation for a blizzard forecast in Oklahoma expected to bring snow and frigid temperatures to much of the state, as well as the potential for ice or flooding in some areas.
At the request of Gov. Henry, Lt. Gov. Jari Askins approved the paperwork declaring the emergency.
The declaration provides a formal mechanism for local governments to seek reimbursement for recovery costs through the state’s disaster public assistance program should conditions warrant. The executive order is also the first step toward seeking federal aid should it be necessary.
Gov. Henry is on a family trip to Colorado and is returning to the state on Saturday.
The State Emergency Operations Center will be activated by the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Since we don’t get it much, I love it.
We get these "last of winter blasts" in Oklahoma all the time, it seems. Last year, at the very end of March, we got 8 inches in Tulsa, and here we are again, this year with I don't know how many inches presently... :-)
I read from one FReeper that said we got about two feet of snow one March many years ago... hoo-boy!
I'm sitting here at work watching it snow and waiting for the inevitable call in “sick” as people wake up, look outside and freak out.
Ummmm..., I would call in sick on Sunday too... doncha know... LOL ...
I am in the ‘white’ 3-6 inch area and I have nearer 10” inches. More snow since last night than all accumulation over the Christmas Eve, Day and day after accumulations.
Well, I'm thinking about getting my cross-coutry skis back again, after I gave them up when moving from Oregon to Oklahoma. Originally I didn't think I would use them in Oklahoma, but now I can see I was wrong... LOL ...
And no, I'm not joking, I'm seriously going to look for another pair for next winter and have fun when the snows come again. Cross country skis are a great way to get around in weather like this... :-)
If folks do that without an understanding before-hand they could land themselves in serious trouble. My company will let folks go to beat a rush of accidents, but is very slow to give leeway when your one of the only ones on the road.
I am in McKinney, TX and I would say 2-4 inches on the ground. Looking at the weather.com site for my zip code, it seems like it is going to be coming down for awhile.
