An attack on THEM? How ‘bout THEIR attacks on people? Stating FACTS is hardly an “attack”.

Breed bans are lousy. I would hate to see pit bulls banned because it goes against conservative principle. But folks who invest so much emotion and money into pit bull "rescue" should be treated like retailers and held responsible for the consequences when the product they pitch kills or maims people. But they don't think dogs, including pit bulls, are products. They think they're four-legged humans.
Discriminating against a pit bull is not the same as racism. The whole pit bull rescue mentality seem to pitch the line that "if you just give these dogs a chance, if you just treat them well, they'll be loving and gentle!" No, that's not what happens, because they're a certain kind of dog. We're talking dogs, man's rightful best friend, useful workmate, and/or companion. Some are bred for catching rats, some for fetching fowl, some for herding, some as weapons. They're a blessing and part of how we got here. But they're dogs. Not people.
I don't have a problem with chihuahua rescues because they're not condoning that you take on a pet that can kill you or someone around you. If you screw up and are a "bad doggy mommy/daddy" with a chihuahua, all you are is a minor pain in the ass to friends and relatives. If you do the same with a pit bull, lives are in danger.
I wonder how a pit bull rescue devotee would feel if she or he found out a pit bull adopted from their rescue ended up killing some older lady weeding her own rose garden, or mauled into a grotesque some 3-year-old kid.
If they were serious about seeing that pit bulls were protected from being banned, they'd start advocating the truth, which is that this breed is great for certain things, but downright dangerous for other things. It's like any idiot who'd get an Australian Shepherd and expect to be able to keep the dog in an apartment and walked an hour a day. The dog would go insane. A basset hound or a little terrier, on the other hand, would probably be fine with that. That's not canine racism, that's just a fact.
