Of course this isn't the same country it was twenty years ago. It's not even the same country it was this time last year.
Yes, Obamacare will put into motion some of the most heinous, and fundamental changes to our American way of life that have ever been done, but that doesn't mean that Obama has changed the people. It only means that he's managed to advance the beast of government towards us.
The point I'm trying to make to you, is that America is us. It's an idea that's in our hearts and minds - and that's all it is, or ever has been. Obama cannot touch that sacred place. No dictator can.
He'd have to kill each and every one of us to crush this country, but he does not have that power. He only has whatever power we grant him. Nothing more. If we decide that we don't like his version of America, then it will not become a reality. It's that simple.
You likely were not alive when the United States was truly great, so you have no point of reference.
You need to stop assuming you know so much about people you've never met, and with whom have the barest acquaintance. I remember much of what this country once was. So much, that it's painful sometimes to reflect on it.

Well, you have just seen that that idea is not the same for all of us, as apparently half the country sees the grand idea is socialism and dependency and the other half sees it as freedom and self-determination. That equates to two Americas, diametrically opposed to each other.
Conflict is now inevitable, and I’m not talking about chanting slogans and waving signs.
