When I heard a congressman yesterday, for the very first time (despite having followed this nightmare as closely as anyone), saying that this monstrosity includes LONG TERM CARE, I hit the ceiling with my head and my jaw was STILL on the floor.
Who doesn’t know by now that long term care costs people everything the have or ever will have? There is not enough money in the world (much less spare funds laying around in the USA) to give all Americans long term care.
Like the Carpenters’ song used to say “We’ve only just begun...” to find out what blank-check, budget-busting, bank-breaking, bond-rating-devaluing, Christmas tree ornaments are still out there for us to be surprised by.
