What kind of correspondents do they have at 60 Minutes? The kind who can't tell that the biggest tax increase in history is a tax increase at all. The kind who complain that even if it is a tax increase, Americans should be willing to pay it because ObamaCare is "really important."
Exhibit A: Lesley Stahl. On Morning Joe today, Stahl--her 40 years or so as a reporter notwithstanding--said she "can't tell" if ObamaCare raises taxes and that her "head is hurting" from trying to figure it out. But so what if it does? Stahl had a sudden bout of nostalgia for the good old days when people didn't mind paying "a little more" for "something really important in return."

Lesley Stahl can’t tell if ObamaCare raises taxes but thinks you should be glad to pay more if it does. Ping to Today show list.
Raising your taxes is the LEAST of your worries. Tell me just how important it is when you have to wait 10 months to have that lump you found this morning, checked out.
Take a pill? Blue or white comrade. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, Leslie - do you recall a poll done several months ago where almost half of the Doctors in this country said they would seriously consider closing their practices if Obamacare passes?
My GP is one of the most competent Doctors I know of. I chose him based upon his qualifications and recommendations from friends. I don’t know now if he will keep his practice open or not. If I lose him, I will have lost one of the best Doctors I’ve ever known. How is that progress?
Is this the ‘change’ you bastards were hoping for you can shove it straight up your collective asses - I DON’T WANT IT!!!
I think Leslie’s brain cell activity has begun to “Stahl”.
Sounds like she follows the Tim Geitner school of taxpaying! ;-)
I usually watch the local Fox affiliate when I do my morning exercises. I had to turn it off this a.m. -- they're just so pleased about this. Well, they certainly haven't reported anything negative about how RomneyCare's working out, so what could I expect. (I may have to start doing my exercises to an old I Love Lucy tape from now on and just look out the window for the weather!)
We can really make her day by asking she pay ours as well. Reminds me of Clinton recently saying he wouldn't mind paying extra taxes while he and his wife look for every loophole imagineable to hold onto their last dollar.
Yeah, but she did note that Obama came in with no executive experience and he’s learning well!
And, amazingly, later in the show, Larrie O’Donnell laughed that the (anti-insurance company) Dems just passed a bill which would ensure that insurance companies and drug manufacturers would receive more money and that there were NO COST CONTAINMENT measures included for either the insurers, drug companies or health care institutions!
Good God, that’s twice in one week I have had to agree with the man who proudly states he passed the largest tax increase ever. It IS a transformational moment!
And here I thiought that the reason for passing this monstrosity was to reduce costs within this broken system. Unfortunately, I never heard anyone ask The One what was most broke about the system, and why don’t we attack that part instead of reinventing the total scheme.
Here’s video of O’Donnell saying he was “stunned” that Stahl didn’t realize that ObamaCare contains massive tax increases:

What a twit. Even if you buy the CBO numbers (and I don’t, it was rigged, and that’s even before the cost overruns that are attached to EVERY social program in history begin), it is supposedly a nearly $1 trillion program over 10 years that results in a budget savings of $100 billion or so. How, you twit, do you spend $1 trillion and come out ahead WITHOUT TAXES?
What a mucking foron!
How is it possible that a woman who makes her living reporting the “news” can be so insanely stupid?
I can't believe I agree with O'Donnell, but he's right. The GOP didn't talk enough about these tax increases. You could just catch the tail-end of Scarborough saying - correctly - that this will be the largest tax increase in the history of tax increases.
This of course comes just before the 2nd largest tax increase in the history of tax increases, that will occur at the end of this year when the Bush tax cuts expire. We are raising taxes at an exponential rate, at a time when the economy has yet to substantively demonstrate that it's "recovery" (to the extent that there is one) has any staying power.
And they call us stupid? One would think that at some point she would have looked that up. Does the MSM find this as disturbing as I do? Probably not.
