BLANKLEY: Sunday's Socialist Triumph
Washington Times ^ | March 22, 2010 | Tony Blankley

Posted on 03/22/2010 5:51:24 PM PDT by raptor22

Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday launched the Democrats' argument for the health care bill, claiming, "This is an American proposal that honors the traditions of our country." Does that suggest that opposition is un-American? And what are the traditions that are American that this law fulfills? The Democrats argue that the bill fulfills the "right" of all Americans to government-assured health care services. The congressional Democrats claim many other things that a majority of the country believes to be inconsistent with truth and reality.

So, considering the rhetorical onslaught that is about to be unleashed on the public, to paraphrase (and with the deepest apologies to) Winston Churchill on the occasion of the fall of France in June 1940:

What House Minority Leader John A. Boehner has called the Battle of Capitol Hill is over. I expect that the Battle of the Electorate is about to begin. Upon this battle depends the survival of a nonsocialist America. Upon it depends our own American way of life and the long continuity of our institutions and our history. The whole fury and might of the media and the Democratic Party must very soon be trained on the electorate.

It’s time we start calling them what they are: Social Democrats.

.
It was a very curious comment. Everyone can agree in a nonpartisan spirit that big government and curtailed liberties are inimical to the American traditions. They are much more in keeping with the traditions of Euro-socialism.

Pelosi spit on my fathers grave invoking anything patriotic in her treasonous act. My father was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He would be the first to denounce Pelosi as a traitor to her country.

Agreed. My father fought WWII just so I and my family would not have to yield to the likes of Pelosi. If he were alive he would be enraged by this unworthy whore. .

Call them COCKROACHES.

That's as low as it gets, alright. However, they are almost impossible to eradicate. Theory says after a devastating thermonuclear attack roaches will proliferate.

That's pretty depressing.

My wife and I agreed this morning that it is probably merciful that our parents didn’t live to see this day.

Of course we are bearing the pain for them. Somehow, we must overcome what has been lost.

True but you can run them out of the US and contain them in France. ;)

That's too tough on European Social Democrats. These people, the "progressive" </cant> wing of the 'Rat Party, are in fact neo-Stalinists.

My father fought WWII just so I and my family would not have to yield to the likes of Pelosi.

The dumbing-down of the schools, the trashing of articulate newspaper comment and objectivity (Exhibit A: Al Neuharth's USA Today toilet-liner, so crassly obtuse that fifth-graders of 50 years ago would have turned their noses up at it, as a paper for second-graders), the coarsening of political discourse almost to the level of Taiwanese brawling (begun by Democrats with the "Watergate class" of 1974), and the Beltway social conspiracies to rope in weak-minded conservatives like Orrin Hatch and Juan McPain, all are coming together for the payoff.

The Left is building a People's Republic right under our noses, and have themselves a by-God authentic Communist in the White House.

This is the kind of scenario that thriller movies used to be made about. But still, no Clive Cussler or Danielle Steele novels have even touched this real-life mise en scene from The Inferno.

I understand the cost implications and they are important to enforce but if the Republicans just focus on that it will be a LOSER. From the Beginning OUR PRIDE in Our FREEDOM,OUR TRADITIONS,THE CONSTITUTION and Our Privacy Rights have to be Rekindled. Figures dont Lie But Liars can figure applies ,Numbers can stir anger but our Pride stirs our Hearts and I care more about that. Now I know the relationship between the two,all I am saying is we Need all the people to be reminded who we are and where we Came from and WHERE WE WILL BE GOING, this next election will determine our fate as Americans .

If such thing were possible, we should identify those persons most responsible for this treachery. Research their holdings and affiliations. Then engage in a national boycott. The numbers could be massive. It works for the Lavender and the Black lobbies.
