Giuliani:Number One Priority was an ‘Ideological Commitment to Government Takeover of Medicine’

Former New York City mayor and presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani minced no words when it came to the Obama administration's massive health care overhaul. In an exclusive interview with CNBC's Maria Bartiromo, Giuliani stated that, plain and simple, it "was an ideological act by the Congress" liberal Democrats "are very happy about."

"Instead of privatizing - which is what our government should be doing - we're taking major roles of the economy for the United States government," Giuliani told "Closing Bell" anchor Bartiromo. "And it is not an exaggeration to say we are starting to look more like a European social democracy than we are an American free-market capitalist society."

A self-avowed free-market advocate, Bartiromo attempted to defend the Democrats' actions for a second: "Let me take devil's advocate for a minute here and say, ‘Okay, you say socialism and we're seeing this government takeover. Well maybe some of this stuff wasn't working before, so how do we know this isn't going to work better?'" she posed.

Giuliani lamented how disingenuous Obama's entire argument about a health care "crisis" was, seeing as how much of the significant provisions do not go into effect for years - and quite possibly under the watch of a Republican president.

As I commented on an earlier thread, today, many who voted for O and supported OCARE, have no bloody idea what they supported.

I work with a large number of Asians who voted for O and were thrilled with yesterday’s results.

I was told today that they were going to cancel their company sponsored healthcare and pocket all the cash that they had been spending....

Because, now.....all of their healthcare would be free....paid for by the government!

That...is how the Dems secure votes. They rely on illiterate immigrants to keep them in power.

Maybe now he'll run for Senate.

This cannot be emphasized enough. I can testify to the same thing. These newly minted Americans don't have a clue about the responsibilities of what it takes to live in a constitution republic. The citizenship test is a joke. And they don't just rely on the illiterate immigrants, they relay on a lot of other illiterates.

Yes, this is what I'd like to see. I know a lot of people on this site don't like Giuliani and think he's a RINO and all. But I know this about the man. He's a patroit. He's conservative enough for New York. Yes, he's not the type of a conservative you would get from Texas, Alabama, or Virginia but seeing as it's New York, he would be okay with me. It's the best New York can do and I think he just might win.

Yes, I’m with you there. He could win and he’d be in or corner more often than not.
