Sure you can reject Part B, but the rest is still in fact the truth. You MUST use medicare as primary, and cannot go to a doc or hosp. that does not take it. If your doctor stops taking, you must change doctors. The retirement insurance pkg. is seldom of any use.

Fed. employees I have no idea about, as that includes Congress, whether or not it should.

Congressional Staffers Complain About Double Standard in Health Care Bill

By Jana Winter

- FOXNews.com

Select congressional leadership staffers — some of whom wrote the health insurance act — are not governed by new rules governing millions of Americans and the rest of their colleagues on how they buy insurance — and the special exemption has the Hill hopping mad.

Very good point. I hadn’t thought about that.

Speaking to a dozen or so columnists a yesterday, Pelosi warned that insurance companies that gouge their customers won’t be allowed to participate in the new insurance exchanges that will become available. Those exchanges hold the potention for millions more customers, so insurers will want to be able to participate.

This is getting sicker and sicker. Nazi Pelosi telling private companies to shut up and toe the line or the government will starve them and shut them out. Outrageous.

If we don't win - and win big - in November, I think we are going to start having to seriously look at 'non-political' solutions to our crisis in Washington...

Anyone who gets SS must use medicare

Pure B$. My wife still works and her Medical Insurance is my Primary, Medicare is secondary and pays exactly Zero. I am 71, so I don't expect any healthcare in the future regardless of insurance.

Just a reminder that not all GM retirees are union. My late Dad worked for GM for over 35 years and was non-union, he risked his life walking across the picket lines many times, he hated unions. My 71 year old Mom gets health benefits through GM, this could affect her adversely, that is very important to us. They have already cut her benefits drastically in recent years due to the bankruptcy.

I know the unions got everything and the salaried workers were cheated.

Yes, that was a previous chapter in Obama’s “Transformation”
of the USA.

What’s left of it.

Thanks for the info, which seems to be mostly accurate with respect to private sector retirees.

I am not eligible for Medicare but my husband is and we continued right on with Federal Employees BC/BS — only thing Medicare pays for is the Part A hospital and related expenses. We still use the same doctors and they don’t have to take Medicare but if you don’t use a preferred physician BC/BS won’t pay the full amount and you are on the hook. Use a PPO physician and nothing changed.

It happened when they forced federal employees into Medicare and they were allowed to keep their federal employees insurance instead of Part B and Part A was furnished at cost. Democrats did it to save Medicare.

...."To start, Caterpillar, Medtronics, and Verizon."....

You can probably add ATT also. They haven't said as much yet, but I have received two letters saying ATT hired a company to get me disabled and get gubmint SS bennies for me. I knew then they were trying to actively get me off their dime.

The rich and connected are headed for “health care resorts” that will pop up all over the Caribbean. We won’t be allowed, unless we first allow the doctors there to perform a complete “cashectomy” on us: the removal of all property and assets of every kind.

We pay $353 a month for Blue Cross/Blue Shield Federal Employees insurance so anyone thinking Federal Employess get it free or at a reduced rate are wrong as well.

Only the post office the the Member of Congress get it at a very reduced rate or free. We pay about 10 times what a postal worker pays.

This both chilling and mind numbing. I guess the new IR-SS goons will track down those unpatriotic companies that want to make a profit and haul them off to the prisons.

Not to mention the money that retirees paid into retirement all their lives to keep healthcare when they retire. I don’t think many companies do this anymore, but at one time it was the norm. Many of the retirees alive today paid into those plans.

The Congressional staffers, of all people, should not be heard to complain. They of all people must know that “some are more equal than others.”

Why didn’t we hear from large and small business during all of this? They were complicit.

When it comes to small businesses who do you think a large number of those Tea Party people were? Did you miss the videos of small business people at town hall meetings screaming at their congress critters to listen?

When it comes to any kind of business they exist to make a profit. When government does something that gives them an opportunity to decrease operating costs, that gov had previously increased with its mandates, why would they object? Businesses don't exist to guide public policy.
