The working assumption is that they canned him for his Waterloo piece about ObamaCare and the GOP. Did they? Hmmm:
Frum made clear in a letter to AEI President Arthur Brooks that his departure after seven years at the conservative think tank was not voluntary. I have had many fruitful years at the American Enterprise Institute, he wrote, and I do regret this abrupt and unexpected conclusion of our relationship. AEI did not comment immediately.
In a brief interview, Frum said there was no suggestion by AEI that his sharp criticism of the GOPs health-care strategy was the reason for his dismissal. He declined to say what Brooks had told him.
They invited me to remain associated with AEI on a non-salaried basis, Frum said, and he declined.

Frum is a fool and good riddance.
He claimed that Obama desperately wanted Republican votes for Obamacare.
In fact, Obama wanted to pick off one or two to sign on to his government takeover.
The dark heart of Obamacare is giving power to government bureaucrats to rule on whether medical treatments may or may not be permitted to be paid for under every health care plan in the country.
The government will decide the quality of life of someone needing treatment and whether that treatment will be provided.
No one but a statist tyrant would be in favor of such system.
Frum, get thee behind me.
Hmm. The American Enterprise Institute is hard up for cash and so they had to fire David Frum in order to cut expenses?
Two questions: (1) How much do think tankers make at these places? Anybody have any idea? (2) Why is AEI’s funding drying up? Did they take a hard hit on Wall Street during the meltdown?
There is a God!
Its pretty clear that they fired Frum for his wanting the Republicans to appease Obama. The AEI recognizes and affirms with Frum’s dismissal that solid conservatives should not cooperate with Obama on ANYTHING.
These guys produce policy justification “on demand,” for hire. Tell them the policy you want, pay them, and they’ll “think it up” for you. My guess is Frum was voted off the island on account of the low quality of his work. It wasn’t persuasive, it was reactionary.
He wasn’t fired. He was just defunded. They asked him to stay on in a voluntary capacity. ;o)
Bravo, it about time. These fraud conservative should be put on notice; pack your back and beat it. Kathleen Parker and Peggy Noonan take a hike and join your liberal goon on the other side of the fence.
AEI should never have hired Frum in the first place. He has no discernable analytical skills and has never been a champion of conservative principles.
I agree and don’t believe anything the dems do or say.
The key word is Liar.
Fathead Frum should just trot on over to the Huffington Post and write his drivel for them.
They would love him.
Liars indeed. I won’t vote for any Republican who works with the Democrats.
He should go back to Canada. He can get a job as speech code enforcer at the University of Ottawa.
Because they kept him on the payroll for 7 years I will never give these betas a dollar. Theres many on the payroll as bad as Frum. Just think about this, frum and several of his AEI colleagues sat down with leftist Bush-hating Vanity Fair Magazine in December 2005 to castigate, smear and belittle President Bush, while troops were on the ground in the two war theaters of Iraq and Afghanistan. And then AEI continued to pay frum and the other traitors for 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and the first 3 months of 2010. How does that make you financial supporters of AEI feel? When they endorse romney, remember that.
Then what was it?
Thats what you get out of MSNBC conservatives. Funny that Peggy Noonan and Kathleen Parker are also MSNBC regulars.
