Baucus: People will be 'wealthier' under new health care act
Washington Times - Water Cooler ^ | 3/25/10 | Kerry Picket

Posted on 03/26/2010 11:33:17 AM PDT by paltz

President Barack Obama made a campaign promise that he would not raise taxes on individuals making under $200,000 or couples under $250,000. However, Senator Max Baucus, a Montana Democrat, made a statement on the floor this week that seems to dispute Mr. Obama’s tax pledge.

“One other point I think that is very important to make is that it's true in certain cases taxes will go up for some Americans who may be making less than $200,000," said Mr. Baucus.

Taxes will go up via everything you purchase. Not a direct tax but taxes on companies who will raise the prices of their goods. Guess who pays for that.

I don’t want the commie ‘RATS’ giving me any of the “wealth” that they have stolen from other Americans who had to work hard to earn it. That “wealth belongs to them, not the F’n government. F’M.

Fixed it for clarification purposes.

Only the triangulated mind of a demented liberal can spew forth such twisted logic. Sad part is the morons out there buy into this gibberish-—until it hits them in the face! And many of them still take that ignorance to their graves!

I asked Senator Baucus on Thursday to elaborate further on his statement. “It’s complicated. The wages go up when your health care policies are less expensive,” he said. “Employers will make up the difference often, according to the CBO, with wage increases, and when wages go up, sometimes people pay a little more in taxes, but on a net basis they’re ahead.”

LMFAO!!!!! So far 3 companies (CAT, Verizon, John Deere) have PUBLICLY ANNOUNCED that their healthcare costs are going UP. So, according to this "logic", people are going to get pay cuts?

According to Senator Einstein, when taxes go up, people get to keep more money in their pockets.

Mr. Baucus disagreed that his statement on the floor showed Mr. Obama broke a campaign promise. He said, “People will be better off as a consequence of this bill. On that basis, they’ll be wealthier and have more income under this bill.”

Of course, Senator. I know it's true in my case...whenever you take more of my money, so that you have it, and I don't, that always makes me feel wealthier. (Insert eyeroll smilie here.)

Such a silly statement for him to make. Let's say we have $16 trillion national income. We spend $16 trillion of that income on stuff and taxes. Now, we increase the amount we spend on medical care by $2.5 trillion. That means we will spend $18.5 trillion when we only have income of $16 trillion.

So, something will have to give.

I suspect that the Democrats cannot maintain the fiction that "new math" will save us as the entire structure of the economy and the government crashes to the ground and the enraged mobs are chopping their way through the smoking ruins.
