Health care advocates furious over Attorney General Rob McKenna's decision to challenge the new reform bill took their case to Olympia on Friday.
The Capitol Campus issued a modified lockdown at the Highway Licenses Building, where McKenna's office is located. This lockdown prevents anyone without specific ID from getting into the building.
Protesters wanted to hand-deliver to him nearly 20,000 online petitions asking him to drop the lawsuit.
Advocates claim McKenna is trying to block the health care plan, but the attorney general has said his multi-state lawsuit only challenges the constitutionality of a few provisions
0bummerCare is such a healing balm for the Republic.
Doncha think?
Locking down a secure building will be seen my the MSM as a travesty against free speech, in the next breath they will complain about the Tea Parties.
WA ping
Does it look anything like those crazy, racist, tea partiers????
If there is any bad behavior by this group, I’m sure it will be widely reported.
I’m sure this will be all over CNN, right?
Only 20,000 signatures? Collected by whom - local ‘social justice’ activists like ACORN, well versed in fraud?
Since the area from Olympia (capital of Washington State for those not in know) and north through Seattle is densely Democrat/Socialist, it doesn’t surprise me that this is happening. But these folks don’t represent the rest of the state.
Calling Alan Colmes...
Doesn’t McKenna understand that the communist boat lifts all dead weight??? Sure these protesters are homeless addicted junkies covered in their own feces and lice. Yes they couldn’t pass a second grade civics exam. Yes they are violent, pathologically insane psychotics bent on the destruction of America. Yes they smell, they are unbathed, unsophisticated, unlearned, unprincipled. But they have Obama Rights. Rights different than the ones you and I have. Surely he can see that!
Everywhere we turn we encounter more efforts at mob rule.
I live in OLY. My bet is these are Greeners. This town also has a high number of self professed anarchists.
Not surprising, given zero's background as a commie agitator ... err, I mean community organizer.
Amazing, no adjectives were used.
LOL
I’ve heard that about Olympia. It seems to be typical of capitols since politics dominates everything in the city.
Is it true that Evergreen College is not the place where one can find a politically ‘balanced’ education?
and i really don’t believe for a second that they are so organized as to get 20k legitimate signatures in what, 48 hours or so since the AG announced he would file?
These should be subjected to the same scrutiny ours get when we petition for an initiative to roll back taxes statewide, right before the legislature ignores it.
(are we a little bitter here, or just realistic?)
I am certain this news will be all over the media tonight. /sarc
And we should demand the release the signer's names/addresses to the public as the liberals demand of those who signed an anti gay marriage referendum in WA state
If it gets reported, the report will be so vague as to imply that these are tea partiers threatening against health care legislation.
1.8 million in D.C. didn’t do nuttin, but a few hundred can.
Sumthin’s very wrong in this country.
