A bill empowering police to arrest illegal immigrants and charge them with trespassing for simply being in the state of Arizona, is likely just weeks away from becoming the toughest law of its kind anywhere in the country.

Already passed by the state's Senate and currently being reconciled with a similar version in the House, the bill would essentially criminalize the presence of the 460,000 illegal immigrants living in the state.

The bill's supporters say a local crackdown has become a necessity because the federal government has failed ...

Let them all go to “sanctuary cities” like San Fransisco.

This, as Obama’s gestapo is down in Phoenix trying to put Sheriff Joe Arpaio in prison.

A Federal District Court will throw it out.

Interesting. I suspect the Obama administration will react badly to this, should it become law. Look for lots of arm-twisting and threats of cutting of funding to this and that, in the very near future.

Or don’t look for it, because it’ll never make the MSM headlines.

McCain...has deflected questions about whether he supports the legislation. "It's a state issue," McCain spokeswoman

They need to make McCain come clean on this, so the voters can decide. We can all guess where he really stands on this.

By the way, all of those "immigrant advocates" concerned about the broad nature of "reasonable suspicion" would be the first to call for the full police power of the state to suppress the Tea Party movement merely because of unproven allegations about a mere obnoxious comment.

Seems to me, rather than making the perps criminals, which they already are, the “toughest” law on the books would send the perps back.

It's a state issue?? Are they kidding me with that response. He's the fricking United States Senator representing the state. Kudos to Arizona, make it happen and send all the illegals scampering to California or other nearby states. Perhaps the other states will then get the message and follow suit.

If Sheriff Joe is behind it, it will be the toughest.

Good. Then maybe I can turn in all the illegals that come to the hospital where I work. Can't believe how many come in to the ER for a hangnail but they don't speak English. They're also on AHCCCS because they don't have a job.

This illustrates why direct election of senators was a mistake.

Senators chosen by the state legislatures would keep the best interests of the state in mind.

Sherriff Joe is one of the few officials in this state that actually want to simply enforce the law!

Go Sheriff Joe!

Nappy isn’t going to let this happen if (s)he has any say about it.

Oklahoma might follow suit if Arizona does well with it.

Next thing you know all the illegals are going to be making a more massive run for the border to California replacing even more native Californians that are fleeing that state and taking their self-destructive Leftist politics with them.

Could we see a future shootout between Arpaio’s officers, who are trying to arrest illegals, and the Feds who are trying to protect them? We’ll see.

I could see “Born In East L.A.” situations happening. A Mexican or Latino/Hispanic-looking guy, who is a citizen of the USA but doesn’t have any ID, gets arrested and deported to Mexico and has to sneak back into his own country! LOL!

Daaaaaamn! Now that’s an immigration bill.

McCain must hate this one.

I am sure 0bama’s cronies are trying to combat this in some manner.
