Palin Wraps McCain in Tea Party Movement

Two years ago, John McCain transformed Sarah Palin overnight from an obscure first-term Alaska governor into a national celebrity when he picked her as his vice presidential running mate.

Now Palin is repaying the favor, putting her prestige on the line in an effort to help the four-term Arizona senator overcome his toughest re-election challenge ever.

The two campaigned together Friday for the first time since they lost the presidential race in 2008.

At the first of two rallies this weekend, Palin pumped up Tea Partiers, invoking the cause of the first Tea Party in 1773.

"Remember it was the Freedom Fighters and those who protested tyranny and big government," she said. "And that's what we're doing today."

"And when you think about that first Tea Party, shoot, some may claim that John was there, at the first Tea Party," she said with a laugh, poking fun at McCain's age. McCain, who is 73, grinned widely beside her.

Yeah, he was around during that time.

Back then, though, he was known as Benedict Arnold.

Don't malign Sarah Palin for repaying McCain 'in kind' for thrusting her into the Public Eye.

Palin is maligning herself by associating herself with socialist McAmnesty. Conservatives who oppose this association are standing firm on their principles over party affiliation.

Are we fans of Douglas McArthur, or not. I have very mixed feelings about McArthur. He was great in WW2 and Korea, but he was ready to turn U.S. troops against American citizens prior to his great achievements. I support McArthur in spite of his short comings and I support Sarah Palin.

Sarah, what are you doing?
Supporting McCain will only encourage him.
McCain has no chance of winning.
America needs a conservative, small government person who will never compromise. He ain’t it.

Yes, it was a joke, and a rather obvious one at that.

However, I’m not surprised that FR didn’t miss a chance to attack a Republican (any Republican).

Sort of true.

He supported the early bail-out bills which started the Tea Party movement.

So, he was there at the beginning -— just not on the Tea Party side, but on the opposite side.

==

Palin has chosen sides. Since she supports McCain, she defaults to support his CFR attack on the First Amendment (3 parts of which have been deemed unconstitutional by the courts), amnesty for illeglas, etc.

Wrong side, Gov. You can’t rewrite history. McCain is just politics as usual and McCain definitely represents the Old Guard, which created most of the problems in Washington.

Send him back do to more damage?

tsk tsk tsk

At this point I'm wondering if she's pushed herself out of the possibility of running for president.

I believe that to be the case. She has to know that by campaigning for McCain (in a lousy PRIMARY, of all things), she loses her reputation as someone who will courageously take on her own party's corrupt establishment, and that is a selling point she can not afford to be without.

It is very hard to keep ‘cheerful’ today with this betrayal feeling almost personal after reading her book and loving her story!

The lack of reading ability on this thread is discouraging. IT WAS A JOKE! The original TEA PARTY - Boston. It was a dig at his age!

I think Rusty Humphries and Dough Hayworth summed it up best by saying that they understand Sarah’s loyalty, and they expect and welcome her endorsement of Hayworth after McCain loses.

I’m just going to give her time. Once McCain is voted out of office, hopefully she’s done with him and focused back on the Tea Party.

But she has been focused on the tea party. She is going to be at Burning Man, for the Tea Party, in Nevada.

Had McCain been around at the very first Tea Party, there would be a U.S. Navy aircraft at the bottom of Boston Harbor.

Was McPain a teabagger before or after he introduced Amnesty, McCain/Feingold and several other Socialist fiasco's?

Palin is rapidly proving her incompetence as a Conservative. She is also a terrible speaker, is a lightening rod among independents, the MSM and her politically troubled past of being a quitter, etc, will guarantee a win for the other side.

NO MORE LOSERS FOR THE GOP!

That would have been a pretty good achievement considering the technology of the time.
